Justice League: The New Wave (OOC - Interest Check)

Hmm on the healing side of things, How about a child or a new "Dr Midnight" with an updated power set.

Still a vast source of healing to fall back on, (As this was his main function. He always carried vials, tubes, ointments etc to heal all sorts of ailments)

However powers slightly different. Still able to see in the dark but maybe able to control their vision now, (So no goggles needed), Can create a darkness radius around themselves (Mist), inside of which they are stronger, faster and more durable (Tougher skin or invulnerable).

Downside: Mist only lasts for short periods and is susceptible to wind conditions. Can only be used a few times a day. However they do get stronger the darker it gets.

We have Serling as a medical doctor at HQ, and Raven can absorb people's pain. I included Aquagirl partly as an NPC combat cleric with legit healing powers because Kiz was basically falling apart towards the end of the Kobra arc but we had no way to physically restore him.

It's a fairly standard practice for DMs in my experience to include a healer so the players can focus on combat if no-one wants to play the healer. I was attempting to pay that forward a bit.

In any case, I don't think we need a strictly specialized healer, but if someone wants to play another character with healing as a secondary ability-- such as Mary with her bio-magic --then I think that's a good call.

Maybe a Cherry Blossom tree. I liked the idea of durability through density with regeneration (as trees aren't particularly bothered by someone cutting off a limb), but still some aspects of beauty and bio-magic. Travel could be either burrow or "seed cloud." On the bio-magic side more of a buffer/healer. Entangle foes or animate plants.

I love that imagery!

Code name Sakura? Or is that too derivative/appropriative?

Oh I don't think we want to let Naruto in the door. Not sure what a good super hero nickname would be.

Shinin is Gaelic for cherry. And yeah Sakura is Japanese for Cherry Blossom. Meiyun in Mandarin.

Ech, Naruto.

I'm sure some people love it dearly but I can't help but feel like they've ruined two of my favorite Japanese cultural concepts-- kitsunes and hanami.

At least I still have "Ghost in The Shell."

Of course I haven't seen the ScarJo version yet.

Wyld! Loved that!

Earlier in the thread I suggested that Superwoman's boyfriend/husband on Earth-11 was named Loïs Lane, because I found it hilarious that "Lois" could also be a man's name. But if you like Lance better, I can always go back and edit that!

On another note, I should hopefully be able to start rolling back into IC posts again tomorrow now that we've done some housekeeping. Thank you everyone for your patience and awesomeness.

I'm very sad to say that Vic is rethinking the way he involves himself with RP and has opted to withdraw. I'm going to write Jon and Damian long enough to phase them into the Reserves list, but he and they will be sorely missed.

Damn. Gonna miss Vic........... And Jon. Damian not so much:D....... I just never liked Damian at all.

Another Electromagnetic type would be Magenta. Or if she is too old a kid of hers.....

I had trouble liking canon Damian at first, partly because he was "replacing" Tim Drake, my dearly beloved favorite Robin, and partly because my first major exposure to Damian as a concept was a-- not very well-written character in the original LDoK ORP. God bless Camerin, he is/was a sweetheart, but his Damien was so entrenched in bad 90s antiheroics that I still cringe about it.

However, actually reading Damien as written by comics deity Grant Morrison-- who largely defined the character even if it was based on a concept from a much earlier story-- I kind of saw him as "what if Bruce Wayne adopted Draco Malfoy" and it was much more entertaining from there. Especially because at one point Morrison himself referred to Damien as a "little snot" and that made me chuckle and feel better about disliking him at first.

I think Vic took on the task of expanding upon and extrapolating from a complex and interesting character, and he did a brilliant job with it-- but anyone could lose their way or get knackered from a task like that, so I don't blame him for feeling daunted.

Jon held so much promise, especially given how deeply the Superman archetype is embedded into the Morrisonian works that have so profoundly influenced these threads-- Final Crisis and Multiversity especially. But he'll still have his time in the sun, this I vow.

Magenta is a Rogue at the moment.

I didn't get to trot out that faction for the most part during the Kobra thing because of how things went down against the Strike Force, but I'm still holding that character in reserve for that because of plans plans plans.

And she's magnetic... but can she do stuff with electromagnetism? Electricity, photokinesis?

In the same vein, what if Dr. Polaris has a good multiple-personality this week?

Damn, out of the loop on Rogues..... Ah well. Aura of the Ravers?

Not your fault.

It's in my notes, but I don't think I named anyone in that faction yet besides Mirror Master and Blacksmith.

Aura's a fine choice. She was a contender for a visual for LodeOut, one of Rose-25's Dials, before I went with a genderbent Cosmic Boy instead.

Loved it

I watched the original ages ago and just had to watch the new one the moment I saw it showing in the cine. Of course with new CGI they made a pretty decent story, but I feel that they captured the story perfectly.

A bit rushed, but not too much.

Other people will of course disagree, but that is my ten cents.

I wouldn't say I loved it. But I liked it. It wasn't perfect but I thought it was good. It's a shame it didn't make more at the box office.

Where the hell you finding gender bent legion art?:D And yeah, that was my take away from your statement;).....

DeviantArt!

I will have to look that up.....

Now to that other problem I had this morning. It is steamrolling.......

The Birthrights. Those of us who are born into it. The Fury, The Detective. The Legacies. Those of us who "earned" this "honor". The Midnight, The Mighty mite. Then there are the Artificers. The 'Heart, The Star and it's Stripe. Those chosen to wield a relic of us. We keep the Helmet under tight lock and key. Bad things happen when that one gets loose and chooses.

Now my link to the image is broken. Goddammit, that was hard to find.

Time to go spelunking.

Out of the three I put up there, I have to say my favorite is Nebezial. He lends a sense of humor to our heroes that I don't see very often. Plus he tickles my fancy for a Harley Quinn that kept her Harleen Quinzel brain.
