Sweden in hot water for giving Christian asylum seekers Bible quizzes
https://www.rt.com/news/388397-sweden-refugees-bible-test/

"Sweden’s Migration Agency is in hot water for giving Bible knowledge quizzes to Christian asylum seekers, local media reports.

Some social media users are saying it is ‘absurd and ridiculous’ to require such tests in mostly secular Sweden.
Refugees Welcome Sweden, a group working for open migration policies in Sweden, slammed the questionnaires on Twitter. “Religion should be voluntary, not forced,” “Welcome to a secular country,” said sarcastic comments from other people on Twitter.

It is a reasonable demand that the asylum applicant should show some knowledge of the Bible – this should come naturally, and isn’t something you need to study,” Carl Bexelius, deputy legal director at the Swedish Migration Agency, said.
“Migration Board re-introduces ‘catechism doctrine’. They are testing just Bible knowledge, not faith,” it said."

This confused me a bit, and I could think of many scenarios from there.

I was hoping to get more background from Liar too, regarding this particular immigration procedure or requirement.
If any of these were explained in the swedish press.

I read somewhere that it's used to screen christian reffugees who are seeking asylum invoking religious persecution.
It makes sense at a superficial glance - to weed out those who converted recently to Christianity just for those purposes.

But it also depends what countries they are coming from.
And given the last 2 years - all sorts of other questions come to my mind.

Nope, just Russian press.

Quizzes can be recreational, and I suspect some local church threw in a bunch with their care packages, to occupy the kiddies.

Hobbits on the left believe the President can't ban anyone from any country that has a Muslim majority because it Ipso Facto violates the Establishment Clause...which clearly doesn't protect non-citizens. In essence, they are nuts.

How is that "legal" EO working for you? ;)

Or inflates it from its flaccid state into a huge geographical erection that bats Iceland into Greenland.:D

What's with all the dick and butt jokes? You're like over 70 and have the wit of a 7yr old.

Everything in the BoR protects non-citizens. The only legal rights American have and non-citizens have not are the right to vote and hold office, and the right to live and work in the U.S.

Non-citizens outside the United States have no US constitutional rights.

Haven't heard anything about that before now so I can't comment. But our immigration authorities are a bunch of morons, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Here are a few gems from recent years:

* Ordered a gay man from Nigeria deported, in spite of policy that gays from Nigeria should not be deported due to prosecution, because he couldn't prove he was "gay enough". He went into hiding and has not been deported yet.

* Deported a Bangladeshi man for getting a job via LinkedIn instead of an employment bureau. Yeah I don't know either.

* Depoted a man who has lived in Sweden for 55 years, for "failure to assimilate". Wat?

* Deported another because he earned about 460 SEK (about $50?) a month too little. Some rule about work permits being revoked if you can't support yourself. Except he didn't. He earned thousands more. It was a clerical error by the tax authorities. Deported him anyway.
