Members of Congress 'holding secret conversations about removing Donald Trump from of

Can't be too secret if they heard about it across the pond.

And then what have Pence step in?! Better the boastful bully with a penchant for signing EOs that go nowhere. Pence is much more sane and can command more backing from the GoP mainstream.

Keep Trump in and alive for the minimum 4 years and then get rid of him.

Think of it as penance for letting him get elected in the first place.

That was the plan from the beginning. Get pence as president. He'd never win the popular vote so tag him with Trump who had popular appeal and then let Trump destroy himself one way or another and the Republicans have a toady on the spot who will to the party line.

Mike Pence is the chairman of Trump's transition team, and we all know how well that went, and is still unfinished. If Trump is removed from office, Pence will have to do that all over again, which could take years.

Would there be any downside to that?

There are people in the religious right who justified a vote for Trump on those very grounds -- that they don't really expect him to be president for long.

I seriously doubt this will happen -- much more likely that Trump will get tired of the job and just quit. If no one seriously talked about it with Reagan, who was obviously in "can I still tend the rabbits" territory for most of his presidency, I don't see it happening with Trump.

Don't mind me. I'm just conducting a headcount of nincompoops and morons who are actually taking this thread seriously.

Il Donald having a hissy fit, throwing his hands up and quitting is a distinct possibility.

It says private not secret but doesn't matter. Obviously isn't secret anyway.

Trump said a week or two ago that the job is harder than he thought and that he misses he life and freedom. Pretty sure everyone saw that coming. Might be a glimmer of light at the end of a long ass tunnel.
I can live with Pence. He's an ass but he's a sane ass.

The difference is that Reagan was happy for the "establishment" to get on with business as usual. Trump insists on doing it his way.

No, a political move in Congress to unseat the president by constitutional means would not meet the legal definition of sedition.

That would depend purely on whether they were successful or not after actually doing something to further the idea beyond drinking, smoking, ogling the interns, and bitching.

Revisionist history and all that.
