That show pissed me off when it aired on cable. Shithead didn't do shit. He read lines, nothing more. And not very well.
Now if it had used Roddenberry's name, I would have felt a lot better. A lot of his visions and gadgets have come true in one way or another.

Star Trek is just a geeky show but Star Wars is all about adventure and great epic stories. That's why Star Wars became popular and mainstream whereas Star Trek is not so popular

Trek is a much more intellectual franchise, was from the beginning, with the characters exploring alien cultures and dealing with thorny ethical dilemmas. Wars is nothing more than a Western IN SPACE!

i liked the new star trek movies until the last half of the second one with the ending being the final nail in the coffin. that shit was just fucking insulting. i've heard the third is better, but i haven't bothered to check.
and the holiday special is fucking hilarious. that's a positive in my books. bad star trek is never hilarious. it's just fucking boring. see pretty much all of the tng movies.

i loved droids and ewoks when i was a kid, but they were just toy commercials.
but so was pretty much every other cartoon at the time. not they saying they didn't suck because they were fucking terrible, but they were par for the course.
and, for the record, i also liked those terrible ewok tv movies from around the same time period. what can i say? kids have shit taste.
