Justice League: The New Wave (IC)

Velocity was able to contain the rest of the Fallout. She did have to add on to the jar a little but it seemed things upstairs had calmed down and she was able to suck all the smoke and ash down and into it before sealing the top by melting it over making it air tight.

She hardly wanted to look inside it was so disgusting inside. The sides dripped with black and green ooze as the contents condensed, while black gaseous clouds swirled around carrying particles of ash and other multicolored pieces.

Later she would have to find someone who could dispose of this safely. Someone back at the hall would probably know of a facility. However for now her first priority was getting back up to the fight.

Luckily a solution to that was close at hand. Zooming back over to Rebel she looked up and smiled at her. "So ready to join the fight again. I could use a lift or I am going to have to use a trick I have been working on and quite frankly I am not sure if it will actually get me that high."

Jo was about to answer Velocity when the moonbase began it's fallin apart thing. "Bigger problems sweetie, we gotta play clean up down here I think," and Jo let loose with her flash vision. Vaporizing as much as she could. Running her beams as wide and hot as she could put out. When pieces were too big for wide beams she would tighten the beams and vaporize the chunks.

Garfield lowered the limp form of Gorgon to the ground and released the limp body to fall that foot or two to the ground. A heartbeat later Garfield landed in a knee-bend crouch and straightened up to look around.

"Well I think that we really deserved a milkshake break."

He looked at the watch on his wrist and tapped it, it seemed worse for wear, but still operational. He activated the comm-link

"HQ this is double B, I do hope that you will be having milkshake later on with us...or at least those of us who would want to go have a milkshake. Also be advised, we have several combatants on our side which I have never met. Oh and before I forget, we will have to make my watches sturdier. Over and out and around the mulberry bush we dance."

He closed his link and grinned, shifting into a gorilla

Thea almost laughed at Gar's joking. Almost. Just as she almost laughed at G.R.I.D.'s nickname for the last bad guy standing. Some of this team were okay. Then she looked at the rider. And Renegade. And thinking about it, herself. The team needed the light hearts to balance out some of the darkness. Back to work.

Thea began to slowly approach the final fight. Her teeth bared and her hackles rising visibly into a ridge down her back. She could smell the stench of magic on Lord douche bag. She could almost feel patterns on him. Part of the curse she guessed.

We Built This City.

"Shockin' Grife," Bouncing Ball mumbled as Moonbase Ex began deteriorating and falling to Earth.

Fortunately, the perimeter had been rapidly pushed back when Diehard had uprooted The Space Needle and Rebel had flown it to the sea, but this moonrock was the size of an aircraft carrier and it was dropping and falling apart...

Aztek, still unconscious and on autopilot, was rapidly flying his teammates to safety...

...but as he hauled Batman Red and Solstice through the air, a chunk the size of a Volkswagen fell for him and even though he could go intangible his friends couldn't...

...Bouncing Ball bounded out of nowhere at lightning speed, collided with the rock, sparkles flew as he bounced off of it and sent it tumbling away, rolling through the green grass of the park, but the impact ricocheted him away at shatterneck speed...

...and there were plenty more rocks where that came from, and a whole city under their shadow...

Carin looked up and saw the moonbase breaking apart. Oh great if it wasn't toxins from the thing falling all over the city, now it was the actual base.

Well first things first. Grabbing the jar she whisked it out of the danger zone, placing it deep underground where she was sure it would not be found easily by some curious bystander, and where it could not be knocked over. She was not letting all her hard work in capturing the gasses go to waste.

Returning she saw that Rebel had managed to destroy the first few large rocks, but the task was humongous. The base was huge, not only in length but in thickness as well.

Glancing left and right she saw that the whole area they were in had been pretty much cleared. The tower from earlier was gone thanks to Diehard and Rebel, and there was not much here besides that before. However just as she was about to try something she saw the new Hero Ruby dialed up go whizzing by.

She sped off and caught up with him and tried to stop him with a blast of air while running backwards, slowing him gently. At the same time she continually looked up and did the same to any smaller chunks of rock falling near her. Even if she couldn't destroy them she could still make sure they didn't land anywhere dangerous or at a high rate of velocity.

Jo knew this was hopeless. There was no way she could do this was there? Her flash vision blazed up more and more. She could feel her ultra energy pouring out. She had never taxed herself like this before, it was beginning to be painful. She kept pouring it on. Here eyes were usually putting out beams, but now it was like blazing fire. Jo bellowed out her frustration and her anger. She couldn't have saved Supes. Her eyes poured out more power. She had failed to beat Doctor Blowhole by herself. Stone melted under her blazing glare. Sweat poured out of her. Tears steamed and evaporated. Hell, she couldn't remember her life before the Nash family had taken her in.

Jo kept pouring it on. She was letting her anger out in this, letting it all pour out. Her rage fueling her flash vision, Jo was using more power than she ever had before.

On the Bounce.

"Hey, thanks!" Bouncing Ball beamed at her as he decelerated rapidly. "I would have caught myself, but I probably would have had to bounce off of some other stuff first, plastokinetic overdrive is part of the gig--"

--and then flew alongside her as she continued to run--

"--but anyway, wow, you're really fast! We don't have a speedster in my team, The Legion, but you're so handy, way more useful than silly lil' ol' Robbie Taine! Maybe we should get one some time!"

But then he saw the twin columns of nova-strength radiant heat pouring from Jo's face, and his eyes widened.

"Oh. IDEA! --'scuse me."

Jo kept pouring it on. She was letting her anger out in this, letting it all pour out. Her rage fueling her flash vision, Jo was using more power than she ever had before.

Bouncing Ball swooped up beside her, holding up a hand in front of his eyes against the brightness but trusting the energies of his plastokinetic field to protect him from the heat.

"Hey, are you like Universe Boy, in that he can only use one Uni-Power at a time? I don't know if you can atomize that big rock that way, and I'm really only good for bouncing debris away, but if I lend you my Legion Antigrav Ring, then you could fly up there and use other powers at the same time!"

What the Nass? Jo had been so intent on doing what she felt was the right part for her to be doing that she hadn't noticed Ruby's latest forms slipping up on her. "No idea 'bout no Universe Boy, but yeah, I c'n only use mah powers one at a time," She stopped the flash vision and looked at him. "Yer sayin you got a flight ring? Yeah I could use that right 'bout now."

"'Flight Ring?'" Bouncing Ball blinked. "Yeah, that's a catchy term for it, but--"

Quickly he tugged his Legion Antigrav Ring off of his finger and pressed it into Rebel's hand.

"Here! I hereby deputize you as an honorary member of The Legion of Galactic Guardians 2099. Now go!"

"No idea where I came up with that though," Jo said as she slid the ring onto her thumb and kissed Bouncing Ball on the cheek. She keyed the ring online and took off.

Now she could get to business. Up and using speed and strength in quick exchanges she could get rid of more debris than she had with just her flash vision. And once she could get the bigger stuff out of the way she could get back up topside and see if there was any fight left. But first the big stuff.

Wondergirl and her power punch

"In the Mission: Impossible films they peel their faces off when they're done playing an alternate character," Rose pointed out. "I've never seen Renegade do that. But no, we're not in a TV show. At least, as far as I know. If we were fictional I think we'd be more of collaborative internet fanfic based on comics, but I'm not an expert. I just mean-- 'genre-savvy' people pretending to look at The Fourth Wall, it's not an exact science."

“Face peeling? Eww Gross.” Wondergirl replied. “If you can do that, don’t. Especially if we’re kissing, or doing anything else.”

As the Base began to shake and fall apart she slumped her shoulders. “No rest for the wicked? Or is that weary?” Then she straightened up, somehow pushing her tits out even further than normal, “So, do we catch rocks or punch the asshat in the family jewels? Men stop fighting when you hit them there. Why do they have such a weak point directly between their legs? It hurts if I get punched there, but I won’t stop fighting. Maybe Gaia planned it that way.”

Renegade and her mouth..

All the way East in Metropolis, Natasha blinked. "Did you just... hit on me? I mean, I ain't mad, I'm not calling HR, it's just-- you're hard to read."

“Yes. I’m flirting with you. I always flirt with the super cute ones. Wanna have a drink after this is over and I get my ass racked over the coals? Though getting raked over the coals can be fun, with the right partner. We should go to Tahiti and do some firewalking. And tomorrow you can go to confession.”

Striding across the rocks she thought back to the silver crate, damned it would be nice to have that in hand again. Been a while since she used it last. “Can anybody join this dance, or are all the slots taken?” She asked looking at the two of them. “I heard your name is HVac. Does that mean you can fix my airconditioning? Fucking hot as hell – been there - Can you bring on the next Ice age? It would be nice.”

As she rambled she was watching him, finding his patterns. His stride, his tells, and his body language. Catching the blade Raven threw to her she smiled. “Yeah, I can dance with this. ميخائيل‎?”

Raven..

"THE STORM IS RISING!"

Havok roared.

"AND AT THE HAND OF HAVOK, SO SHALL YOU FALL!"

She’d try to stay calm. Keeping her thoughts of Domina as she dealt with Super Idiot. But now this, and she was getting tired of fucking around with him. She didn’t want to kill him. She really really didn’t. He was a petulant petty child that wanted all the toys, and when told no, he would rather try and break the toys so no one else could have them either. To bad the toys he wanted were living people.

Touching the Ankh between her breasts she whispered “I’m sorry.” Pale white eyes gleamed as she glared at Havok. “You destroyed your world, you shall not have this one. Begone, before you are no more. Last chance.” She snarled lifting up from the ground as her cloak snapped and fluttered.

But she didn’t bother waiting. He wasn’t gonna leave, not even with all his allies already beaten, he was a lunatic, he’d never back down, never admit he was wrong. He liked to play with magic weapons. Fine. Muttering a whisper, a plea, a request for permission, she opened a portal and took what she needed – punishment or permission would come later.

Throwing the weapon to Renegade she sent blasts of Holy Fire at Havok. “You might use light magic, but you’re no Seraphim.”

Velocity watched Bouncing Ball zoom over to Rebel and start discussing something. Free once again to attack the problem she looked at the problem. Suddenly everything seemed to slow down...Well actually it stopped. Her brain had sped up to the point where the outside world was moving so slowly it appeared to be stopped.

Looking around she considered her options. She could use her speed to create a vortex and cushion the rocks back to earth, but the problem with that was that some of the rocks were definitely going to fall on buildings in the city and some at the same time. No matter how fast she was, she wouldn't be able to get them all, and she wasn't sure that even with Rebel's and Bouncing Ball's help they would be able to get them all.

Sure she could do that for some of them, but she needed a different way to deal with some of the other ones. Looking around she tried to find another way. She ran through her list of tricks and came up blank. If she was on the Moonbase she might be able to do something by vibrating the chunks into dust, but she was stuck down here.

Still as she looked around all she could see was the small debris that Rebel was leaving behind or letting fall to the ground. Suddenly a large smile spread across her face. The world started to speed back up but it still went in slow motion. She ran around the clearing gathering an armful of small rocks and then began throwing them at the larger ones.

One thing about speedsters, in their hands a solid projectile became a weapon of true destruction. A normal person can throw a fist sized object (like a ball) at about 45 to 60 miles per hour. A professional baseball pitcher averages in the low 90's with the fastest hitting the low 100's. A speedster can throw things well over 10,000 miles per hour. Unfortunately there are not many things that can survive that kind of friction. Still she could try it and hopefully whatever this moon was made up of would hold up enough that it would at least destroy the larger chunks.

Rebounding.

"No idea where I came up with that though," Jo said as she slid the ring onto her thumb and kissed Bouncing Ball on the cheek. She keyed the ring online and took off.

Robbie had been about to say something in reply--

--but then Jo kissed him, and his eyes went wide in his head as all words went out of it.

"I'm a married spud," he mumbled, touching his cheek, sparkling globules dancing around the spot where Rebel had kissed him. "I'm a married spud. I'm a married spud."

But as Rebel and Velocity went back to work, so too did Bouncing Ball--

--ricocheting about and attempting with all he had to clear debris out of the air and clear innocent bystanders out of the debris' path.

"Save that the sky grows darker yet. And the sea rises higher."

“Face peeling? Eww Gross.” Wondergirl replied. “If you can do that, don’t. Especially if we’re kissing, or doing anything else.”

"I totally can, but I won't, I promise," Rose shook her head fiercely. "Not my kink."

As the Base began to shake and fall apart she slumped her shoulders. “No rest for the wicked? Or is that weary?”

"I've heard it both ways," Rose admitted.

Then she straightened up, somehow pushing her tits out even further than normal, “So, do we catch rocks or punch the asshat in the family jewels? Men stop fighting when you hit them there. Why do they have such a weak point directly between their legs? It hurts if I get punched there, but I won’t stop fighting. Maybe Gaia planned it that way.”

"I'm the last person to ask about Intelligent Design," Rose agreed, totally not scoping out her girlfriend's jutting chest, Valentine's Day, focus, "and I'm not a proponent of violence as a rule, but how about you hit the Big Bad and I go catch rocks with my brain?"

As Moonbase Ex's antigravitational field decayed rapidly along with its structural integrity, a battle of wills still raged upon its fracturing surface.

“Yes. I’m flirting with you. I always flirt with the super cute ones. Wanna have a drink after this is over and I get my ass racked over the coals? Though getting raked over the coals can be fun, with the right partner. We should go to Tahiti and do some firewalking. And tomorrow you can go to confession.”

"I appreciate the invitation," Natasha hesitated, "I hear it's a magical place, but that's really not my scene. Also I'm not Catholic. Technically I'm a lapsed Protestant. I'm jabbering. Anyway, hanging up now, call me if you need another reload, keep an eye on the green kid for me."

Striding across the rocks she thought back to the silver crate, damned it would be nice to have that in hand again. Been a while since she used it last. “Can anybody join this dance, or are all the slots taken?” She asked looking at the two of them.

Havok beckoned. "Come. All are welcome beneath the boot of HAVOK."

Pale white eyes gleamed as she glared at Havok. “You destroyed your world, you shall not have this one. Begone, before you are no more. Last chance.” She snarled lifting up from the ground as her cloak snapped and fluttered.

"MY WORLD WAS FROM ME UNTIMELY RIPPED!" Havok roared. "I AM DUE RECOMPENSE! AN EYE FOR AN EYE! AN EARTH FOR AN ANGOR! I WILL. NOT. BE. DENIED!"

“I heard your name is HVac. Does that mean you can fix my airconditioning? Fucking hot as hell – been there - Can you bring on the next Ice age? It would be nice.”

Havok waved this off with a slash of his hand. "Your prattling means nothing, your hypocorisms mean nothing. As for the end of the world, I prefer Eliot. But Robert Frost... 'I think I know enough of hate to say that for destruction ice is also great. And would suffice.'"

Throwing the weapon to Renegade she sent blasts of Holy Fire at Havok. “You might use light magic, but you’re no Seraphim.”

"Ice indeed," Havok grimaced, parrying the blasts of sanctified fire with the Judecca runes he'd used against Ghost Rider earlier... hellice... "For my people I was whatever I needed to be. Guardian Angel... Guardian Devil... your labels cannot find purchase on me even as I transcend them!"

As she rambled she was watching him, finding his patterns. His stride, his tells, and his body language. Catching the blade Raven threw to her she smiled. “Yeah, I can dance with this. ميخائيل‎?”

Havok snarled: "!خراب"

And with a massive surge of power from Wundajin's axe, all-encompassing cloud banks rolled across the Pacific Northwest sky as though crafted from whole cloth.

Thunderbolts spiked down through the air around the crumbling Moonbase...

...and blinding freezing sleet began slashing down from the clouds, torrential downpour...

As Green Arrow had observed earlier, Aquagirl had stayed crouched next to Barracuda--

--she had been fighting to maintain Barracuda's hydration levels, keeping her week and pliant but not letting her slip into a coma or anything, but now the cold wet rain started pelting down and Aquagirl's eyes widened in surprise and fury:

"Oh, Hell no."

Throwing up her uninjured hand, Lorena fiercely bent the water to puddle in mid-air over Barracuda and herself instead of landing on them-- keeping the precipitation from revitalizing the powerhouse.

Meanwhile, the disassembly of the Moonbase had continued...

...the chunk on which Tracer had been bound as he healed cracked and tumbled over the side, the insensate mercenary falling with it towards Seattle below...

As the base began to deteriorate, The Sandman dropped to one knee and dug his hands deep into the surface of Angor's Moon... or what had been left of it. Feeling the energy of the ground beneath him. Aligning with the unique, alien feel of this strange rock. And then he sent out his power. Reaching for the chunks of rock that matched the peculiar aura of the stone.

As Tracer started his crumbling descent, The Sandman found the resonance he was looking for. Suddenly the rocks stopped falling. The base continued to shudder and contort, but it ceased crumbling.

The Sandman dug deeper, calling on the Mantle to grant him the power he needed.

"NNNYYYAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!"

The Sandman let out a terrible bellow as he strained to hold the chunks of Angor's Moon from falling. And slowly... the moonbase began moving away from the city. Toward the Pacific Ocean. The Sandman quivered and shook with strain as he poured every bit of himself into his task. He would get the base out to sea, let it crumble where it would do a hell of a lot less damage.

The Sandman reached out with his mind, scrambling to reach Rose without taking too much focus off his geokinesis.

"I hope your catching on. Trying to move this thing to the water,
if we can get it off shore, maybe we can drop it without any casualties... but I don't know if I can do it alone... It's more taxing than anything I have tried before...
think I might need a little help."

Every fiber of his being was aching and screaming as he kept the moonbase together. His mind and soul itself were burning with exertion, trying to wrap his essence into so much earth... to hold it... straining against all the forces of the natural world that wanted to thwart him. Gravity, inertia, both working against him. But he would not yield...

Faith can Move Mountains.

As the Sandman stopped Tracer's chunk of rock from tumbling away, that chunk of rock had still fractured considerably, and Tracer's form continued to slip and tumble out of his rocky prison...

"Hang in there, don't forget to breathe... I'm on it," Rose nodded, blowing Karan a quick, fierce kiss before soaring up and then swooping low, positioning herself at the fore of the Moonbase near the glassy prow formed by the pavilion.

She flung out her hands with the fingers spread wide, squared her jaw, and sent out tendrils of mental force deep into the moonrock...

...felt them anchor...

...gritted her teeth...

...and drrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaagged...

...slowly, slowly, towing the titanic chunk towards the Seattle seaside...

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

But even between the two of them, were they pulling it faster than it was falling?

As the Sandman stopped Tracer's chunk of rock from tumbling away, Braggock reached out and snagged the beserker, steam puffing off of his obsidian form where the sleet spattered against his surface.

"Stay where we can see you," he suggested.

And then punched Tracer again to keep him unconscious, his fist landing like a wrecking ball.

The rubble slowly stopped falling, then it stopped falling at all. Jo looked at the base and realized it was moving. Slowly, but moving. It was also losing altitude. Jo thought for a second. Strength. Then using the ring she flew under the base and put herself under it. The ring would give her a solid base and her strength would help her keep it aloft. She could also help with momentum as well.

The base was following the needle towards the ocean. Not as fast as the needle but it was on it's way.

GRID focuses his attention to Havok. "So tell me, honestly, from one armored super-person to another. Do you find rusting to be an issue? For me it starts being one if it starts chaffing around the neck. Would you have experience with pains in the neck?" Milton grins like a fool under his helmet.

I think we've had our fun with the jokes Milton. Starting a deep scan of Havok's systems.

Reign Havok.

GRID focuses his attention to Havok. "So tell me, honestly, from one armored super-person to another. Do you find rusting to be an issue? For me it starts being one if it starts chaffing around the neck. Would you have experience with pains in the neck?" Milton grins like a fool under his helmet.

"My armor is a metallic smartskin, adaptive and polymimetic. Oxidation is nonexistent. My cervical spine is... unimpeded." He flexed his hand around the handle of the axe. "But yes. I take your meaning, however glib. I am... accustomed... to pains in the neck. Four of them. They are dead now. You will not fare better."

I think we've had our fun with the jokes Milton. Starting a deep scan of Havok's systems.

While the Moonbase's sensor-jamming systems had been shut down-- especially now that the main power source for the whole base had been yanked out of its socket and into Havok's gauntlet --Havok's armor was still largely inscrutable.

But Lysl was a keen observer.

His armor demonstrates flight systems, sensor/deflectors, energy projection for both offense and defense, missile projectiles, possibly numerous other concealed weapons. The liquid polyalloy "smartskin" he describes makes it capable of reconfiguring on the fly for any number of purposes. Blades, claws, bludgeons, shields. It can repair itself from almost any damage instantly, as demonstrated by Raven's scrubbing of his runic engravings and his immediate restoration of them.

It is those runes that make him most dangerous. Magic is-- difficult for Coluan-derived systems to cogitate. An incalculable quotient. An indecipherable factor. Almost as bad as Kryptonian technology.

More pragmatically-- those runes appear, contextually-- to enable "Lord" Havok to wield that melee weapon. And that melee weapon-- seems to be capable of meteorokinetic, electrokinetic, atmokinetic displays possibly on the order of The Champion's Trident borne by Aquaman. It appears singularly dangerous, and we have no way of knowing how little of its potential we have already empirically observed-- but, though Aquaman surely restrained his use of The Trident of Neptune out of discipline and respect for its destructive power, Havok evidently believes his will to power to be insurmountable, and will likely demonstrate no such compunction.

"If your little AI is done confirming for you how dangerous I am," Havok snarled, "how dead you all are. Then let us begin."

And he swung the axe to point at G.R.I.D.

And unleashed a lightning bolt the size of Nelson's Column at the armored archeologist.

KRAKOOOM!

Velocity had done her best and now it seemed that no more chunks of rock were falling from the base. Indeed looking up she could see that it was moving away slowly to the ocean. Very slowly, but enough so that if it did break up, even now most of it would miss the city.

She had a choice to make. Stay here in case it didn't make it and play clean up, or trust in her comrades and go and help in the fight.

She chose the latter.

Looking at the leftover rocks in her hand she grinned. She had always wanted to try this. Gathering more up in a pile she took careful aim and then began throwing them at timed intervals towards the base. As the last one left her hand she sped up them like a staircase, finally arriving at the top and skidding to a halt on the surface. Grinning like the proverbial cat that just ate the bird, she took in the situation.

It was raining cats and dog's, something she hadn't noticed being under the base. Havok was holding some type of glowing axe as was surrounded by GRID, Raven, Renegade and Wondergirl. Green Arrow was next to the Rider who was in it's Demon form again a little way off and Aquagirl was desperately trying to keep the downpour from reviving Barracuda.

All of this took her less than a micro second to see which was fortunate as the next thing she saw was a lightning bolt headed for GRID. Okay that was not good. No matter how good his armor might be, a lightning bolt that size was sure to do some damage and they were going to need everyone they could get to put Havok out of commission.

Zooming in she grabbed him and had him out of the blast zone and next to Raven before the bolt had traveled halfway to him. Damn she was getting faster. Maybe not at the speed of light yet but getting there. Maybe one day.

Garfield saw Tracer sliding before Sandman got hold of him again, but then Tracer slid free and over the edge.

"Grok!"

Garfield shifted from gorilla to cheetah and he ran. Not
towards Havok, but towards the edge of the moonbase, a
moment later he flung himself into space, the emerald
cheetah changing into a jade colored peregrine falcon
which dove sharply. Oh he knew that Tracer could not die
from crashing to the ground, but just to let him go...that
would just be wrong, because when he heals up enough, he
would not only be free, he would be able to rage unchecked
among the innocent civilians.

A Stephanoaetus coronatus or better known as a Crown
Eagle, slammed into the falling body of Tracer, but
something was quite wrong with this eagle. Where the
biggest recorded bird is 90cm and not able to weigh more
than 4kg, this bird seemed enormous. Claws sank into the
prone form of Tracer and massive wings spread out, halting
the descend with a jarring jerk. The eagle let out a painful
cry and then glided slowly lower, picking up speed. With an
adjustment it started ascending, flapping it's wing
powerfully, but still struggling with the dangling form of
Tracer in it's massive claws.

This was not what Garfield had in mind, he actually had
hoped to transform into a bestial form which could hurl
Tracer away from the city, or even slap him away and
transform again into a bird. But instead his powers seemed
to take on a will of its own and here he was, carrying the
recovering Tracer in massive talons which made him feel
like the mythical Roc. As he cleared the lip of the moving
moonbase, he released Tracer and landed next to him.
Glaring at the others, he screeched and then shifted back
into humanoid form, dusting off his top.

He looked at Tracer and realized that as he wasn't
entombed anymore, he could actually heal in time to blind
side one of his team mates. He grinned and stepped closer
to Tracer.

Moments later Tracer recuperated locked in the giant coils
of a Green Anaconda.

“You have such a lovely brain,” Karan smiled. And with a kiss so fast it was more of a whisper she was gone, fire burning from her eyes as she focused on HVac’s head. Maybe if she could melt his helmet that could start dropping his defenses.

“Not a babysitter, and I’ll show you magic on our date.” Renegade snorted as the line filled with dead air.

Havok waved this off with a slash of his hand. "Your prattling means nothing, your hypocorisms mean nothing. As for the end of the world, I prefer Eliot. But Robert Frost... 'I think I know enough of hate to say that for destruction ice is also great. And would suffice.'"

“Blah blah blah,” Renegade mocked as she walked forwards the blame glowing in her hands, with a couple swirls in her grip she felt it’s weight and balance. And then she burst into motion hacking and slashing at Havoc as she moved around him, Giving the Rangers a chance to get in a few hits as well.

“If you’re so transcendent, they why do you need a world? Why do you need a body? Why not just transcend to god/demon hood?” Raven asked as bolts of light, and dark, snapped out from her area and fired at Havoc.

"Xarathos, I know you want to punish the Guilty and I understand that, but you were bonded to a human host and are supposed to do it as the Rider, not yourself. Look at all the destruction you have caused. Some of those buildings contained dangerous chemicals that are raining down on the city below. How many innocents are YOU hurting because you are not controlling yourself? You have to let the Rider or Danni come back. We need them to defeat Havok. Believe me he will still get punished but you need to let them be in control."

Shifting it’s attention for a moment so brief it was barely a glance That which was Vengeance spoke. “Will you die for them?”

Green Arrow looked at Xarathos and then at everyone he could see. He was not too sure who the question was aimed at but he was not going to lie to the creature in front of him. He had learned the hard way that there was no point in doing that.

"If you are asking would I die to save the innocents in the city below, then the answer is yes. I will even die to save the not so innocent and the guilty, because you can not save one without the other if this chunk of rock falls from the sky on top of them."

Looking at the gathered heroes he smiled. "If you are asking would I die for those gathered here that I call allies and friends, then again I have to say yes. I would prefer not to, but it is the risk we take when we become a Hero."

Then looking straight at Xarathos he began in his most earnest voice. "However if you are asking if I would die for Danni or the Rider, I would do that in a heartbeat. Yes I know who and what she is, and yes I know you are a part of her. Hell I even know she is damn well immortal and so shouldn't be able to die, but I would still sacrifice myself for her in an instant."

Smiling he looked up at the flaming Demon. "Love makes you do crazy things. Not sure if you understand that or not but I am hoping you get the sincerity of my feelings. Still if you don't want to turn back then how about hitting that shiny dude with the big axe. I have a feeling he is guilty of a lot of sinful things."

Arrow really wanted Danni or the Rider back, but if that was off the table then pointing Xarathos in the right direction was the next best thing he could do.

Follow the Bouncing Ball.

It was less than a mile to the sea, as the Rebel flies.

Past the IMAX place, over streets and buildings, then that last hurdle over Myrtle Edwards Park...

...oh, but every foot was like the longest yard.

Lift, Push, Rebel!

Pull, Manhuntress, pull!

Hold, Sandman, hold-- keep it together now!

And from below, Bouncing Ball watched in awe.

He didn't need to bounce away falling debris anymore, somehow Sandman had contained it-- Molecule Lad couldn't have done it better!

But without a way to fly up there, without a way to bounce up there, he was just stuck on the sidelines.

Oh, that was okay, Bouncing Ball never was much of a front line guy--

--the world blurred and dropped out from under him--

"--shocking grife!"

Aztek. Still unconscious. Still on autopilot. Had swung back around from evacuating Titans and had scooped B-Ball up by the armpits.

[Reunion: facilitated.]

To his credit, Bouncing Ball didn't take long to adapt to this sudden shift. "Oh! Thanks! Gosh, everyone here's so helpful!"

[Gratitude: accepted.]

[Maneuver: finalized.]

Aztek released Bouncing Ball in a swoop over Moonbase Ex before soaring back off to guard The Titans, and with a yell of surprise, Bouncing Ball landed-- once-- twice-- three times-- kicking up sparkles and moondust with each impact before rolling to a halt next to G.R.I.D. and Velocity.

"--oh. Kay."

"How can I help?"

Lysl sounded a little surprised and amused, relative to her, as she told Milton:

Scan complete.

Spring Ball unlocked.
