Interesting to see Russia's totally changed rhetoric on Trump.
One article out of many:

Broken by US power machine': Trump’s 100 days prove his maverick image was fake
https://www.rt.com/usa/386537-trump-100-days-president-promises/

"Donald Trump’s election strategy relied to a degree on the image of an anti-establishment billionaire who could fix a broken DC. Instead, his actions in office have been aligned with the policies of the same special interests he used to speak out against.

Some of Trump’s critics say he was dishonest from the start. Others, like Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, believe he has been "broken" by the US establishment, which would not tolerate a president that wanted to improve relations with Moscow or stop America’s perpetual wars.
Either way, the 45th US president has proven himself consistently inconsistent during his first 100 days in office. Here are some of the issues Trump has done a 180 flip-flop on since taking the Oval Office.

NATO
The trans-Atlantic military bloc was an early target of Trump’s ire. During the election campaign, he branded the alliance “obsolete”. [… ] Skipping forward, Trump now says NATO is a “bulwark of international peace and security.”

‘Policeman of the world’
During the presidential campaign, Trump insisted that the US “cannot be the policeman of the world,” Although he certainly didn’t shy away from sending Navy SEALS to raid Yemeni villages supposedly held by Al Qaeda shortly after his inauguration, it was the barrage of Tomahawk missiles he launched on a Syrian military airfield that set things straight on this issue.

NAFTA
Among the latest things Trump has backtracked on is the free trade deal between the US, Canada, and Mexico, better known as NAFTA.

Russia [… .]

China[… ]"

I can't think of a single thing he's accomplished since taking office that required any effort on his part.
Executive orders aren't.
A slam dunk SCOTUS nomination isn't.
Lobbing a few missiles isn't.
Even the reduction of illegal immigrants coming in to the US isn't as that's a result of his rhetoric, not any particular actions.
Maybe there's something I'm forgetting...?

I, too, was a bit caught up in the election reality show that americans tend to put on.
Your massmedia are great with such things.

And I was exhilerated that Trump was elected, because I believed in the image presented: of a president who's an anti- globalist and against the warmongering promoted by the US and NATO, and for the middle class. And that he'll start setting things in motion for the rest of the world too.

Without falling into the other extreme view (despite some of his electoral rhegoric, I don't think that he'll try to oppress any minority)
I'm starting to get deflated and believe that in the end, things would stay the same whether Obama, Trump, Hillary

Trump begins second 100 days held hostage by Republican Congress

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/t...ostage-by-republican-congress/article/2621647

President Trump begins his second 100 days with major campaign promises held hostage by a stubborn Republican Congress even as GOP voters show faith in his leadership.

The repeal of Obamacare was on life support after legislation pushed by the White House was shelved Friday for a second time in weeks amid Republican opposition in the House.

The prospects for tax reform were equally uncertain after Republicans two days earlier announced opposition to critical elements of Trump's blueprint. The president was even denied money for construction of a wall along the Southern border in a must-pass spending bill.

The roadblocks have materialized because Republicans in Congress feel empowered to assert independence from Trump on issues of disagreement. That's despite the president receiving high job approval ratings from the Republican voters who elected him.

That's because Trump has surprisingly little political influence with conservatives. They represent districts that strongly supported the president in 2016, but bucked him anyway when the original version of the Obamacare repeal bill, the American Health Care Act, was proposed."

Weird. I thought that Trump was propelled into elections by a Republican Party

He has accomplished a lot and gotten a lot of bills signed to curtail government power.

Look it up.

He has taught Syria that there is a red line.

He has taught ISIS that there is a red line.

He has taught China that there is a red line.

He has taunted North Korea that they are at the end of the red line.

I love the smell of shock and awe in the morning...

Not only that, but he is still pressing forward. He's done more than President Obama in his first 100 days and President Obama is the new god of the Left.

...Party

Donald Trump and his family, which includes a Jewish branch, have always been Democrats which confounds me to the greatest degree as to why Democrats will not support him, since if they just negotiate, he will give them everything they want. It is amazing and astounding to watch the Democrats rail against a brand instead of rallying around one of their own...

You're right.
Remember that Slavoj Žižek said something similar? That in his opinion, Trump is a centrist, not a "right winger".(KO's thread).

He is and his family, whom he seems to adore, drags him to the Left.

I knew who he was despite his rhetoric. I never thought he could win. His victory proved the desperation of the common (left behind, mainly white, middle class and not highly educated, but hard working in necessary trades) American people who were constantly told, even as we coddled everyone else in the world and in this nation, that they were intolerant, bigoted xenophobes because they wanted to merely protect their way of life...

This thread proves the fake news meme that "Trump has done nothing" is as pervasive as the Easter Bunny.

The bottom line are the federal courts. Trump will replace all the liberals on district, appellate, and supreme courts, and fuck Democrats for a long time.

We knew he was a NY type Republican who developed his political beliefs dealing with NY Democrats. As soon as he appointed Gary Cohn I knew which way his economics were heading, but in politics, we also know we never get all of what we want. Overall I think Trump has accomplished much and no reality based person expected him to correct 8 years of Democrat incompetence in his first 6 months.

Nothing is based in reality anymore.

Compromise is defined as, "You move to my position."

I worry about the influence of Ivanka, her husband Jared, Gary Cohn (Hillary supporter), and Dina Powell, on Trump's populist goals. Shortly he's going to get the chance to appoint 4-5 judges to the 9th Circuit. Let's see if he's talked into promoting any liberals to any one of those openings. So far I'm satisfied with his executive actions in regard to energy, guns, and the EPA.

All of the criticism of Trump in the media is viewed through the lenses of political purists and/or foreign policy wonks trying to move the ball in one direction or the other. Trump isn't a politician and cleaves to no particular set of rules. That's one of the reasons he confounds damned near everyone. As far as I can see he's driven more by pragmatism than anything else. His moves aren't 'nuanced' by a myriad of often contradictory considerations that have generally led to stagnation of action in the past.

Dealing with N. Korea is long over due. It's an issue that will only grow worse over time if extreme pressure of one sort or another isn't brought to bear. Trump seems to be singularly fixed on making that problem go away in a timely manner.

While the press is fixated on the foreign issues right now, and the domestic initiatives, I'm looking elsewhere. Trump is most likely going to change the make up of the Supreme Court for generations to come. The democrats, stupidly, forcing the issue on Gorsuch has damn near guaranteed that. If Trump sticks to his list he'll have accomplished more than any president since FDR.

I agree 100% on the SCOTUS.

One of the real partisan idiots just posited in another thread that off-year elections do not matter. They do. The changing of the court is but one example of elections having consequences.

Polls are suggesting that the democrats shouldn't be looking forward to the 2018 mid-terms with any optimism. But 18 months is a lifetime in politics.

Indeed. Thirty days out, we saw the Democrats here celebrating the coronation of President Clinton...

Putting 4-5 conservatives on the 9th Circuit will change the liberal grab bag forever.

And I expect Trump to pull a few of the 9th fangs before he goes.

Democrat lawyers gotta get the idea that they'll neverrise about ambulance chaser till they love Jesus again.

Congress really should re-organize the 9th Circuit into a couple smaller districts reflecting more than the Looney Tune San Francisco mindset.

You forget that to half of the Congress, more or less depending upon the latest election, depends upon the ninth to defend their agenda and they will go full-mental Custer upon the Republicans if that what it takes to keep it intact...

Ironically, just like they did with Gorsuch.

;) ;)

SJWs aren't strong when it comes to long-term thinking...
