How come the GB has such a poor retention of non-English speaking posters?

Sometimes it feels like everything on the GB is polarised and cause for biggots hunting and trolling.
Whites versus non-whites, women versus non-women and so on.

So in the spirit of the GB, I'm adding another one to the mix:

How come the GB has such a poor retention of non-English speaking posters? (at least half of whom were
non- Northern European whites)


Any of you SJW's wanna pick up this cause?

I think it is because so many threads have references to US politics and events even if just in passing. Too many people on the GB think that there is nothing interesting to post about that refers beyond the borders of the USA.

What would a non-English speaker do with posts about the 2nd Amendment? Apart from noticing that it attracts opposing views? US-based discussions about guns seem weird to people from other countries.

What seems to many to be common knowledge and easily understood references can be confusing to English speakers outside the USA. If English is not your first language many threads and posts might seem to be gibberish or written in Klingon.

It was meant as a tongue in cheek thread.
I don't really believe that, but for 4 or so unpleasant characters, the GB treats them any different than the rest.


I just noticed that the spirits have been much more inflamed, and the PC madness and fights and accusations of bigotry, that characterize the GB have been much worse over the last 2 days or so.

I wonder why that is. Probably related to some recent events or articles in the US massmedia.

The helicopter was hilarious. I can only think she did a mash up tape of Steve Irwin and Crocodile Dundee clips and accidentally got a bit of Blue Thunder in by mistake.

In saying that (as I said, my thread was just tongue in cheek and born out of frustration after being accused of "racism" over all sorts of nonsense, and seeing others going through the same thing):

I totally agree with you. I get similarly frustrated when I'm unable to make sense of some non-E speaker's posts, even if I can be just as unintelligible at times.
But I guess a lot of them lose interest because -given the prevailing US and Brit. demographic-, the forum focuses mostly on US or Northern European politics.



I'm just sick'n tired of having to constantly defend myself and explain that I'm not a racist, and having the most benign comments misconstrued and cause for anger from the SJW crowd.
Just because I have a different worldview than the GB lefties.
