So glad you two are ok & safe!!!

Cool! I've seen a couple of those and thought the metal looked really nice.
So glad you didn't get hurt!!!

Hey tell your honey the next HF Welcome home is April 25th

Best week yet. I'm wiped out but the drive home from flag wave today was crazy. Got rerouted with a million other people due to a huge wild fire it was at 40 acres earlier. It kept jumping the interstate. So getting home was a chore.

Well apparently I tried too much yesterday. I just went out for 2 hours & walked at 2 events we had here in the village. One and Easter egg hunt for the kids & most my city employees like First Responders and our city public works people. The other was a small arts & crafts show. Both just 3 minutes drive from the house. But like driving, walking was apparently moving my shoulder too much but I made it home to an ice pack and extra meds. There is just no way to park a shoulder and not move it with your core.

Ahhh well I am going to count that as a first workout!! Still not heard when I have my eval with my PT and get that started yet. I figure once Easter is over then it will fall into place.

All 3 doctors are happy with the progress post surgery.
My PT still has me grounded while we are waiting on the referral codes to get my eval & PT restarted.
I'm wiped out by all the running today but I managed it.
Time for ice, ice baby.

Well my PT eval was this afternoon. My PT was able to get a copy of the surgery report. So now we know why there has been so much pain & why it's taking so long to heal. She read over it 3 times and each time was OMG over & over.

Besides reinforcing my shoulder tendons with MIT mesh garbage ties using a drilled hole in my shoulder bone and 2 anchors... they shaved 10 mm off the bottom of my broken collar bone. That collar bone had been broken and healed crooked with a jagged point up & point down. Apparently they only shaved down the top point the first surgery & sewed up the tear like I was a normal person not taking into consideration I have a soft tissue disease where my joints hyper flex. As much pain as that bone shaving causes I'm not sure I could have handled the pain all in one surgery.

Reading this just made my Adhesive Capsulitis/Frozen Shoulder just rage out in sympathy!

OUCH!!!!!!!!!

I have to exercise/stretch/heat/re-heat the fucker. I doubt I'll ever be about to throw a curveball again

Have you tried the acupuncture & cupping stuff?? My kinesiology tape is also a huge help.

My PT was shocked how great my range of motion was already. BUT I'm still now allowed anything that will stretch it too far out. Trying to get my work polo over my head has made me almost cry. Thank God I'm back off of public duty till June 3rd and can wear anything I want working from home.

My niece graduates next month from a holistic medicine college. She'll be pin-cushioning me once she comes up in August for track season.

good!! I even bought my own cupping kit cause it helps so much.
Ask her what else you can do & let me know what works.

My therapist has told me it's going to take over a year, maybe more, for the full range to return. I had a relapse of it: Tightness of the joint and zero ability to lift my arm over my head.

I'm also avoiding taking the Advil-Tylenol-caffeine cocktail that helped so greatly the last time. It got expensive.

I'm allergic to Tylenol. The last 2 surgeries they have tried new pain meds but I've had reactions to everything that's not my normal stuff. They want me on lower amounts of Ibuprofens because that's supposed to hamper tendon healing. It's all that's worked for me. I take a Vico-profen mix that's hydrocodone & Ibuprofen.

The only med I'm allergic to is marijuana. Touching the plant has the same effect as poison ivy has on others. Ingesting pills makes me break out and sets off asthma-like coughing. And when second hand smoke and smelling it on others sets me to coughing.

I've been doing the CBD oil in caps & it's helped me more then the soma for muscle spasms and helps me sleep. Gave a cap to a friend to try who was trying to get off the sleep meds they have him on. He was all HOW the HELL do you take those & do anything. 1 had him stoned off his ass. They don't even make me loopy let alone stoned. But then the fake morphine & oxies I can eat like jelly beans and they don't do anything to me either. The pharm team says it's because my body doesn't know what they are due to the allergies.

My wife gets stoned off of small amounts of codeine. I mean, 25 mg will make her be Tommy Chong for hours!

I hate taking pain meds. I fear I'll be addicted.

I'm more in danger of getting addicted to carrot cake or cookies...
basically sugar stuff. so I just keep small things like M&Ms her and when
I crave it then do a small bite of a couple then put them away.
Never had any issues dropping stuff, even caffeine when they made me.
I occasionally start that when I need it post surgery and stop it once I am sleeping better.

Well we tried my first hard tight tape down on my shoulders today. OMG this is gonna take a while to shift everything back into place that's been out for more then 6 years at this point.

At least they got the surgery done correctly this time.

Good luck with the tape. I am glad they got the surgery right this time. :rose:
