Sun Glare & Shiny Objects

I'm seriously getting sick and tired of all the shiny objects and sun glare. I've always had light sensitive eyes, and they aren't quite as bad as when I was younger - better health, no drinking liquor, diet etc. But everything seems to be so reflective lately.

Chrome and glass on cars. Metal on signs. Glass on buildings. Everywhere I turn it's a reflective surface waiting to blind me.

I'm at a left turn light this morning and there's a truck in front of me with a flat back window reflecting the sun right at me. He's less than 10 feet in front of me. I can't NOT see the glare ripping through my eyeballs. So I spend the next two minutes or so holding my hand up covering the glare.

This has got to be terrible for our eyes.

Surely I can't be the only one getting seriously sick and tired of all the shiny reflective surfaces.

Amber or yellow sunglasses are great for taking the glare off. Really great for driving at night.

I drink, in terrible health, and eat like a 16th century sailor, but glare? Not a problem. :)

Get Polarized lenses.

I know some medications will make you light sensitive. I remember St. John's Wort doing the same to me back when I used to take it.

I already have polarized prescription sunglasses. Imperfect at best. To the best of my knowledge they do not make non-sunglass polarized lenses.

It's really a bitch. Everything is so shiny and reflective.

Oddly enough the most helpful thing I've encountered is apricot nectar. Apparently it helps everything eye-wise.

We're wrecking our eyes with all this sun glare I bet.

I'm not looking for help. I'm looking to bitch. :D

Surely I can't be the only one this is annoying to.

I so get that. I don't want help or advise. I want to vent. I want to bitch.

Thank you. It's not a difficult concept.

Sometimes we just want to bitch. And it doesn't make us fodder for asshats who can't figure out when not to be asshats.

I only accept bitching one hour a day, there's a window and you missed it. :)

Then don't pay attention. :)

Simple as. If you continue to pay attention then you are the masochist and it isn't on me.

Which ironically would make you the high maintenance individual. But you already kind of are.

It just let's me get it out of my system.

*chuckle* "Of course dear." Daddy's little princess trying to "top from the bottom." How precious.

It's actually something I've been thinking quite a bit about. I mean really, our eyes weren't developed in these high glare conditions. Mother nature has limited glare potential but we've got it all over the place. All the cars, buildings, glass, metal. We get hit with sunglare hundreds of times a day. It's just part of our day to day existence.

Don't you ever wonder about the potential damage to our eyes?
