Will it be Republicans/Trump colluding with the Russians, who "hacked" the election? The evidence so far is underwhelming, but it sure is generating a lot of talk.
Or will it be surveillance of Team Trump that will include inappropriate unmasking and taking the spying several steps beyond appropriate?

I'm voting for the incumbent president's team overdoing it. I say this knowing that the Obama administration would never be party to, say, having the IRS target conservative non-profits or, even more unthinkable, lying about why Americans died at Benghazi.
Still ...

But who cares what I think? Where do you fall on this issue?

Yeah, they do that.

And you would be right.

And you would be ill-informed.
There is no question Susan Rice lied on the Sunday news shows about Benghazi and the youtube video that started a riot. Maybe you missed that. More likely you are willingly ignorant. In case you really didn't know, it was an organized terrorist attack carried out by Muslims. You can look it up.
The IRS did purposely block conservative non-profits.

Right now there is plenty of information that Susan Rice was behind this effort at gathering more information, and if so it's obvious she lied about it a couple of weeks ago.
It won't matter what we say here. If you want to defend Susan Rice - and she did lie about Benghazi, so we have some history here - I can only take it with a grain of salt. After all, you have your own views about how Stalinism works, which makes your overall political perspective putrid at best.

It has come to the point where the two sides are so toxic towards each other that it's one or the other with no other possibilities.

Watching the Democrats throw away the Supreme Court for the next four years out of pure spite is probably the most amazing thing that I have ever seen in my life including the Vietnam war and Civil Rights movement.

Hand Wringing From Teh Chief....

Merrick Garland looks at you and laughs.

p.s. he's not laughing WITH you...

Show us the quote, if you can find it, where Susan Rice directly attributed the Benghazi attack to protests over a video.

I claim that it does not exist. Prove me wrong.

For a real shit storm wait until Trump replaces Ginsburg with another originalist conservative.

The bigger scandal is Susan Rice unmasking names in violation of the Espionage Act and Obama acting to widely disseminate that information in an obvious attempt to leak it to the press.

Nope. I say being traitorous is bigger than naming traitors.

OldQueerbait is doin' what he does best, takin' stuff out of context.

Here is what Susan Rice said on Sunday talk shows, when the pundit class was demanding answers....
Susan Rice said:
But based on the best information we have to date, what our assessment is as of the present is in fact what began spontaneously in Benghazi as a reaction to what had transpired some hours earlier in Cairo where, of course, as you know, there was a violent protest outside of our embassy — sparked by this hateful video. But soon after that spontaneous protest began outside of our consulate in Benghazi, we believe that it looks like extremist elements, individuals, joined in that– in that effort with heavy weapons of the sort that are, unfortunately, readily now available in Libya post-revolution. And that it spun from there into something much, much more violent.

Note the immediate qualifier right after the "video" comment. That's what Wingnut Nation tends to omit.

The bottom line, there WERE protests sparked by the video, which extremists elements took advantage of to use as cover to attack the Benghazi consulate, a consulate that had had their security crippled by Republican budget cuts.

yeah, you're wrong on this. you know it, too. c'mon, you can admit it. you're among friends, tovarishch.

I think Phrodeau has had too much of that Longbottom leaf.

Shoot that messenger, little man!

#PewPewPew
#DisregardInconvenientFacts
#EpistemicClosure

The message is a lie. Obama, did in fact, weaponize the IRS against conservative organizations in order to game the election in 2012. So, he shoots himself, littler man.

And consensus reality is usually nearer to the truth than anything else, and always nearer than anything you'll find on Breitbart or the Daily Caller.

Consensus can be anything, the truth is the truth. Your observation that it never exists on those two sites is unmitigated bullshit. Plain and simple.

Your meme on Russian collusion that you've harped on endlessly since I've been here is crap, as there is still no friggin evidence to support it, zero, zip, nada. All it is going to turn out to be is a cover narrative for illegal electronic surveillance, having nothing to do with national security, of legal conversations of Trump, his campaign, and associates for Democrat political gain.

This is a scandal of historical proportions. It shrinks Watergate into insignificance. Here for the first time in history national intelligence agencies were used by a sitting President to undermine and destroy the campaign, transition, and presidency of the opposition party. If Condoleeza Rice and George Bush had done the same to Barack Obama they would have already done 8 years in Leavenworth by now.

Eric Hoffer has a wonderful book of essays The Ordeal of Change. There has been a coup in the Democrat Party. It used to be run by leaders who were advised by the intelligentsia, which for generations was a small group of people as we were not so much a nation that focused on college. As in traditional times, they were content to be at the seat of power advising and guiding men, who in a large part, came to politics from practical careers and humble origin.

As we became more urban and less rural, more and more of the working class began sending their children to college. The intellectual class began to expand and increasingly to the point where there were not enough positions of power to go around and in a meritocracy, few businessmen needed the guidance of someone grounded in theory so the intelligentsia grew increasingly frustrated and began turning out an even more frustrated number of their class until they reached critical mass and simply booted the leaders out of the party and took over its management.

This is who is angry now. This is who thinks they have a [secular] divine right to rule society. It is now them versus us and why the two narratives are so different, why the tactics are so different and why the government has ceased to function; the frustrated are now out to destroy the other party and install themselves as the new, perpetual ruling elite. Free speech, comity (courtesy and consideration) and inclusion are dead. they mean to rule and rule in the traditional sense; they live the good life, study, theater, the arts and we fund it while being excluded from it.

Consensus can be anything, the truth is the truth. Your observation that it never exists on those two sites is unmitigated bullshit. Plain and simple.

Well, I've often seen articles from those sites linked here, and I've never seen one that wasn't bullshit.

This is a scandal of historical proportions. It shrinks Watergate into insignificance.

Of course it is, but the surveillance is not the scandal; a foreign power meddling in our elections is the scandal, regardless of whether the Trump team was involved or not.
