It's one of those things stuck somewhere in the two pounds of grey matter up top, but people, no matter who they, don't simply walk into the White House. Someone, somewhere, has to allow them in.

Which raises the question, who let Representative Devin Nunes into the White House to view supposed intelligence information which has yet to be given to the House committee? Regardless of where on the grounds you are, unless you're part of the White House staff, someone has to vouch for and escort you.

Nunes said he was on the White House grounds to view information provided by a source (otherwise known as a leak) in proximity to a secure location. He claimed the information had not yet been turned over to the Congress by the intelligence community. His concern involved the possible scooping up of Trump communications tangentially to foreign agent surveillance and the inadvertent releasing of Trump associate names.

Nunes claimed the source could not deliver the documents to his committee, so he had to go to them. Which raises the next question, why couldn't the source deliver the documents (his words) to Nunes in a different manner? Are those documents classified? If so, how did the source get hold of them and show them to someone who may or may not be allowed to see the documents? More importantly, will Trump demand Nunes tell him who leaked these documents so they can be punished?

Note that Nunes apparently doesn't care about Trump's collusion with Russia. He's more concerned with the person he helped get elected vindicate the lie of being wiretapped by Obama.

Devin Nunes plot thickens, as his spokesman concedes he met source for surveillance claim at White House

After Nunes apologized to members of his committee Thursday and promised to “thoroughly investigate” the surveillance, several lawmakers said Nunes had promised to provide them the surveillance information he had received

That little rat bastard pardon my French is nothing but a Trump Bannon troll. He has all the Breitbart lingo down. Transparent shill.

REVEALED: Devin Nunes canceled Russia hearing same day Sally Yates promised she’d talk about Mike Flynn

But the White House notified her attorney Thursday that Yates could not discuss her conversations with Trump administration officials about her concerns over Flynn, then the national security adviser, and his communications with the Russian ambassador.

The following day, Friday, another Justice Department official, Scott Schools, notified Yates and her attorney that the conversations about Flynn were privileged and therefore confidential.

“The president owns those privileges,” Schools wrote. “Therefore, to the extent Ms. Yates needs consent to disclose the details of those communications to [the House intelligence committee], she needs to consult with the White House. She need not obtain separate consent from the department.”

Yates’ lawyer responded by arguing that claim of privilege had been “waived as a result of the multiple public comments of current senior White House officials describing the January 2017 communications.”

The attorney told the White House counsel that Yates planned to testify about those conversations.

Nunes, the House Intelligence Committee chairman, then canceled the hearings at which Yates would have testified.

I wonder why the White House is so scared? :)

"Kremlin-Gate," the burgeoning scandal over Team Trump's connections to Russia, is in a class by itself.

Rep. Devin Nunes, the California Republican who chairs the House panel, has been particularly compromised not just by his service on Trump's transition team but also by his unbecoming eagerness to act as Trump's defender in this whole sordid business.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., gets off the best line regarding Nunes: "The problem that he's created is he's gone off on a lark by himself, sort of an Inspector Clouseau investigation here."

This whole issue belongs in the Hypocrisy Thread, of course, but then everything does

‘Democrats aren’t really serious’: Devin Nunes threatens to do investigation ‘with or without’ Dems

House intelligence committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) asserted on Wednesday that House Democrats “aren’t serious” about an investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.

During an interview with NBC News, Nunes was asked if he was upset that Rep. Walter Jones of North Carolina was the first Republican to call for him to recuse himself from the investigation.

Nunes said no, but added: “We’re beginning to figure out who’s actually serious about the investigation. Because it appears like the Democrats aren’t really serious about the investigation.”

Although Nunes has essentially ground the investigation to a halt by canceling all scheduled hearings, the committee chairman placed the blame on obstruction by Democrats.

“They need to give us their witness list because we have no idea who they even want to interview,” Nunes insisted. “As far as I know they’ve done very little to even look through the documents that the intelligence agencies have provided. So, at the end of the day here, we’re going to get to the truth, we’re going to find out who’s actually doing a real investigation.”

So start holding hearings. Get the FBI in and let's see what they have?

Can Fired A.G. Sally Yates Check Trump’s Privilege? A Trump-Russia Intel Committee Lawsplainer!

In plain English, Yates is telling them that they are full of shit. Even if their interpretation of the law were correct, AND IT’S NOT, they would still have waived the privilege by running their damn mouths about it for six weeks now! Spicer alone had five different versions of when Pence found out Flynn was hot and heavy with the Russians. They can hardly pretend it’s a secret now!

Yates’s letter to McGahn ends by requesting permission to testify, kind of.

If I do not receive a response by Monday, March 27, at 10AM EDT, I will conclude that the White House does not assert executive privilege over these matters with respect to the hearing or other settings.

Another question: Does any such information even exist?

There is a possibility it does not. Something I read may indicate Nunes made it all up. That he wanted people to believe the information was real then told the WH about it, hoping they would go along with the plan.

That would be another reason he suddenly cancelled Yates' appearance. Her testimony would undercut everything he has said about this meeting.

Until he shows the committee what he claims he saw we have to assume there is no information. Extraordinary claims and all that.

Comey tried to reveal Russian plot before election — Obama administration officials blocked: report

See it's all Obama's fault!:)

FBI Director James Comey attempted to go public as early as the summer of 2016 with information on Russia’s campaign to influence the U.S. presidential election, but Obama administration officials blocked him from doing so, two sources with knowledge of the matter tell Newsweek.

Well before the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence accused the Russian government with tampering with U.S. elections in an October 7 statement, Comey pitched the idea of writing an op-ed about the Russian campaign during a meeting in the White House’s situation room in June or July. “He had a draft of it or an outline, he held up a piece of paper in a meeting and said, ‘I want to go forward, what do people think of this?’” says a source with knowledge of the meeting , which included Secretary of State John Kerry, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security director and the national security adviser.

 Why would Obama block this? Did he think that this would give Hillary a chance to fail and then let Comey sink her with the release of the Hillary investigation?

 Why would Obama block this? Did he think that this would give Hillary a chance to fail and then let Comey sink her with the release of the Hillary investigation?

Most likely was that he was just not going to get into that sort of mud slinging during the campaign, which would have dragged him into the mud as well, and there was already more than enough negative about Trump on the plate to sink a continent. He likely assumed the American people were too smart to let Trump win. They aren't.

Now he's caught in a BLATANT cover up!

He said he went to the WH to inform them of the secret super special things he saw, and it's just been shown in the NYT that the super secret info came from the WH.

So why did he have to go inform the WH of their OWN intelligence?

Obvs, the WH channeled crap to Nunes to try and prop up Dumb Ass's idiotic tweets, the equivalent of Donald leaking his taxes to Maddow or planting stories in the Post

‘Strap in tight’: GOP strategist Rick Wilson connects the dots on the latest Devin Nunes bombshell

However, Wilson noted that both Bannon and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner both personally pushed back on McMaster’s desire to fire Cohen-Watnick because he is “helping run the pushback operation on Russia with Nunes.”

“Strap in tight,” Wilson concluded. “It’s going to be a rough landing.”
