I've never written an erotic story in my life but I want to now. Really don't know where to start. Could I get some advice from you?

Start writing, just start writing.

My tip is to find some tiny bit of truth in what you write, it need only be a moment, a phrase, or the whole thing, it doesn't matter. But you have to have something honest and real at the core of what you write, I think. Because if you don't believe in it, no one else will.

Also, be very clear why you are writing and what you expect to get out of it - you will find endless debate here as to whether folk write for themselves or for readers. There is no right or wrong answer.

But the clue is in the word - if you want to be a writer, you gotta write!

Good luck, and welcome to the fun house.

I cant imagine worse advice ^^^^^. Learn the basics not bad habits.

1) Start from a shorter stories, don't go for novels even if you have a good plot.

2) Be descriptive with your scenes. Remember - you have an image in your head, but the reader won't. If your characters walked into a bar - describe it to establish the atmosphere.

3) It's personal preference, but when describing characters - be vague. The reader will imagine their own perfect woman, their own perfect breasts and cock size. Youg et too descriptive - this may go into dissonance with the picture that has formed into the reader's head.

4) Avoid numbers and measurements. It's better to describe the girl as "short" than to say she was 5'1". It's better to describe tits as being full and firm than to say they were 38DD. It's better to tell the reader that the cock was big and thick, that if fit perfectly into the pussy and filled it completely - than to say that it was a 12 inch cock.

5) If you want to write text porn - you can go straight for the fucking on the second paragraph. Otherwise, spend some time to establish your characters, include some scenes from their life that are not sex, to show how they react, how they talk with others and what their personality is.

6) When describing sex, don't be shy to use raunchy language. Don't hesitate to go into much detail, describing the foreplay, every kiss, every caress; the smells, the sounds, the words, the touches...
Too often I see sex scenes play out lightning fast, where each position takes 2 sentences and then it's over. It may be personal preference again, but pay attention. Take care to make the sex act feel long enough to imagine and enjoy it. The reader needs to have at least several minutes of good erotica, rather than to receive the fact that sex happened and both came.

Despite what Noirtrash says, starting to write is not a bad advice. It helps going in prepared, but nothing beats actual experience. Write. Your first pieces will probably be cringeworthy, but you will improve.

Get a good beta reader and volunteer editor who will criticize your story heavily and tell you what he/she didn't like. This will give you good opportunity to improve your work and not make mistakes next time.

Pay attention to grammar and punctuation. Use word processor that will help you track mistakes.

Read. That's important too. The more you read - the better your brain will be able to weave words together.

Take a story you like and write it in your own words. Then rewrite and rewrite until you have something original. Then do it again.and again. And again. Write and write. Read books on writing. Read othef peoples stories and books. Look for writing styles you like and try to write like that. Experiment. Try things out. Keep it simple to start with and don't be too ambitious. Dont delete anything. Keep writing. Write stories you enjoy.

Above all, start writing. Today. Dont stop to think about it. Just do it. And write s ome more tomorrow. And the next day. Before you know it you'll be winning a competition and totally surprising yourself.

Write.... now!!!!!

Do it right the first time. Writing aint pissing your pants or walkin g.

But nobody writes right, right? Not the first time. You're going to have a learning curve and unless you're some kind of natural genius it takes hard work to improve.

I get your point and do esxactly as you suggest BUT not the first time. I contend all of us are raised on stories of one kind or another and come to writing with a sense of what a story is. Too many ignore what they know and launch schizophrenic word salad and illogical incoherence. Your way is for when you got both oars in the water and a life jacket on and a breeze pushes you off course.

Easiest answer is just to start writing. There's never one method or anything. Just write what you would like.

With erotica I guess that would mean start with a scenario that gets you hot. Blowjob in public, threesome, wife swapping, romance... just whatever concept you enjoy. Then write a little scene about it. You may find it easier to start small, with shorter and simpler stories.

If you have questions about submitting to this site, there's a FAQ that can help, or I'm certain anyone here can help you with how to get it submitted. It'd be advisable to know what's "accepted" as far as story content. There are a few guidelines.

If you're lost on "how to write a story" there's no easy answer to that either. But just from reading stories you can kinda of see how things are arranged. And if you ask someone how to do it or what are the steps, I'm sure you're going to get about half a million different answers. There's tons of internet articles, how-to books, writing classes, etc -- most of which will just be an overload of information from various sources, both credible or not.

I would say just sit down and start typing out a story. See where it takes you.

Just in case you missed the Author's Hangout Library, here's a link;

Lot's of helpful info there!

My own bit of amateur writer advice would include; Imagine the story premise, plot and setting as in a personal fantasy...something that arouses you. It's important to know the ending of your story, then the rest of the story leads to it. On a technical note; be sure to check out the submission guidelines so you know the proper formatting, etc. Check out the actual submission page work space just so you know how to post it once you finish the work.

Then just give it a go. I would suggest starting small, if possible. Also, remember that it's for fun ~ :rose:

Everyone that's posted has way more experience then I do, but this is what I did and it worked for me. I wrote down all the ideas for my story then rearranged them into a logical order of what would happen, some things got scraped and more got added. But just start writing, the Writer's Resources page helped me a lot https://www.literotica.com/storyxs/writ_stor.shtml . I also watch Jenna Moreci's videos on youtube, shes not an erotic writer but her writing tips have been very helpful for me. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS_fcv9kBpDN4WWrfcbCrgw Best of luck with your story.
