I .... never really know where or when to hop in. I think this topic is a good place to start.

I agree with PvtAddiction. I often enjoy this thread but I never know where or when to hop in either and often I feel like I'm intruding on other people's conversations.

Are there any rules to this thread?

Like PvtA, the AV discussion is one I think I'm able to join in on though.

I probably change/rotate my AV's relatively more often than most Lit'ers. There are a couple of reasons for this, but probably the number #1 reason is that my moods change all the time (I'll blame my Latin blood for this but it's probably actually deep-seated insecurity that I think I've dealt with but haven't quite fully lol)

In addition to totally agree with everything RainShine said ...

#2 - I get requests for pics all the time but I don't have good photo software or photo editing skills. The time it takes for me to sort, find, upload and pick a pic to share is time I'd rather be surfing/posting on the boards or PM'ing with someone I enjoy chatting with. That's why I basically stick to the same ones and haven't added a new one in awhile.

#3 - I've had two phones lost/stolen in recent years and I've seen pictures of me pop up on other websites. That REALLY freaks me out and makes me see the appeal of using pics that are close but not me as many others (especially women) on here do. (this is currently the case with my veil and glitter makeup avatar and my profile picture being surrounded by shoes on a bed while drinking a cup of coffee) I agree it's much more intimate, sexy and fun to use pics that are really me, but, like I said, sometimes it freaks me out too much.

#4 - Mixing and changing your AV all the time really messes with certain threads, like the Guess Their Profession thread or Baseless Lies thread, but it's a price I'm willing to pay.

#5 - I think someday I'll probably pick one and stick with it. But, not today.

I love seeing a variety of people post here - so I hope lurkers will just jump in. I can't speak for everyone (but I sort of am)... while it might get snarky around here, it is usually done with love. Or like. Or, at a minimum, very little hostility.

I have heard before that this little enclave feels a bit impenetrable and cliquish. My hope is that this sentiment couldn't be any farther from the truth. But alas, it is closer than I would wish.

Like all threads, there's a core group who find ease/comfort/familiarity with the thread. And then, by definition it starts to feel more closed off than it really is. There was once a time where I would wield the badge more freely but in doing so I felt that I wasn't allowing the free flow of conversation to happen. While there is value in keeping everyone on task, there is equal value in allowing the ebb & flow to occurs.

These days the topics are less "controversial", and a little lighter. This was done to try and include others, as not everyone wants to debate the value of the love between two men

So I say this to anyone/everyone. Please post as the spirit moves you. I only ask that we allow other's their say in an open/civil/safe environment. Otherwise the place will devolve into another "how big is your cock" threads

Hmmm. Interesting one today. It's been a rough week so I was tempted at first to say dirt brown. But that's not who I am, it's just my current circumstances. Who I am is more green.
