Happy Saint Patrick's Day to all on this day of Fries.

Local news says the police will be out in force this weekend and of this I have no doubt. St. Patty's Day on a Friday is like the perfect storm for drinkers. Newsman spake thusly that some bars would be open at 6am!

Glad I got my booze run out of the way yesterday. I don't want to be on the roads any more than necessary.

duped by pseudoscience superstition

“They should probably cut the [climate] funding by 80 to 90 percent until the field cleans up,” he [Lindzen] said.

“Climate science has been set back two generations, and they have destroyed its intellectual foundations.”

“The field is cluttered with entrenched figures who must toe the established line, he said, pointing to a recent congressional report that found the Obama administration got a top Department of Energy scientist fired and generally intimidated the staff to conform with its politicized position on climate change.”

“Remember this was a tiny field, a backwater, and then suddenly you increased the funding to billions and everyone got into it,” Lindzen said. “Even in 1990 no one at MIT called themselves a ‘climate scientist,’ and then all of a sudden everyone was. They only entered it because of the bucks; they realized it was a gravy train. You have to get it back to the people who only care about the science.”

-Richard H. Lindzen, Ph.D.
Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Meteorology (emeritus)

It is obvious that all of the search engines have kowtowed to the various dictionary sites. I shouldn't have to type in a word and then select a link to get a basic definition. When I type in "When is St. Patrick's Day?" it's simply tells me the answer, and provides some links, should I wish to explore further.

The children will have a fairly nice day to show off their hard work, today.I am hoping that all will go well.

I've just spent an hour on the phone trying to pay my home insurance bill. They seem to think I have a third-party benefactor that pays it for me. I tried my best to convince them otherwise, but have so far been unsuccessful. They will research it and call me back Monday. Watch the damn house burn down between now and then.

I also asked them why its insured for twice what I paid for it and got some lame story about "rebuilding costs" which I think is a crock. I may just cancel it and take my chances.

I wouldn't mind going out tonight but I have nothing green to wear.
