Maybe. I trust "sources" coming from Fox no more than I trust "sources" coming from the NYT or any other media outlet for that matter.


What I do find odd and can not confirm is that the GCHQ has access to the NSA phone data?

A database is of no value if it does not get used. Having to explain to anyone, (including the notoriously leaky US intelligence services) who you need info on, often reveals why. It wouldn't be used if they had to clear it each time they did a search.

Its all part of the Five Eyes network. US/UK/Can/Aus/NZ. We are the world's big brother. You want to spy on your own citizens just have a look at another 5Eyes members data. The interception equipment is non-discriminatory. It picks up everything. Look up Echelon.

Our enemies can't do shit without our spy agencies knowing about it. At least on the electronic front. HUMINT we are not so good. But SIGINT we fucking rule!

America has used wiretaps legally obtained in Canada to get murder convictions even though such wiretaps would be illegal in the US. Intelligence from torture is obtained in other countries.

Obstruct the collection of SIGINT will obstruct our spies from spying on our enemies. All we can do is restrict what domestic data our governments can access. And there we have to trust that our governments will not act against us.
