Binge Watching

Recently powered through first four seasons of The West Wing (Show went downhill after Sorkin left) and am thinking of revisiting Buffy The Vampire Slayer for the first time in a decade.

Coincidence. I was home sick several weeks back and kicked off TNG from the start. I'm in season 5 somewhere now. It's been worth it, there were many eps I never saw. The show is consistently watchable.

Fun Fact about TNG: After the pilot was shot and shopped around, no network wanted it, so it went immediately into syndication and was shown on all sorts of channels at all times of day. It was initially in the domain of the old UHF local stations back in the day, but as it grew in popularity it was licensed and picked up by major network affiliates also, who had to program it away from prime time. Though some would boldly preempt shitty prime time programming and piss off the network highly.

Star Treks in order of preference

Enterprise
Voyager
TNG
DS9
Original

Enterprise was good. I never did care for DS9. I consider TNG the golden age of Star Trek and also enjoyed Voyager.

The Star Trek reboots are doing right by the original series except for that whole Uhura/Spock romance thing. It felt weird watching it.

I binge watched all episodes of the Blacklist, Frontier, Black sails, Marco Polo, The Last Kindom, The Vikings, Borgia, The Tudors, Game of Thrones, to name a few.:D

Just finished (caught up to) Black Sails which I why I am looking for the next one. 5/5 Starts for Black Sails.

Yeah binge watching is the thing to do while sick. Looking forward to the "Q" episodes of TNG for some reason. Been watching the original Star Trek as well. Love the 60s concept of what the future would be like.

Never saw West Wing. I should go back and check that out too. Thanks.

Hey, don't get me involved with old lit politics.
Just having fun, enjoying the beautiful women and trying to chill.

then why are you talking to "ms ann"?

and i was giving broadchurch a go, but while the acting is pretty solid the plot can be a bit hit or miss. the hugging thing was just kinda weird. i mean, i'm glad it wasn't grosser, but seriously, what the hell was that about?

also, having just started series two gotta say eve myles has just kinda lost me. i used to really like her, but she's kinda meh. all big eyes and no talent. i guess that shitty last series of torchwood did some real damage to the poor thiing. still, fuck it, i'll give it a bit more to see if finding the 3rd series is worth my time.

and i know the 3rd series just started and that the 2nd series finale is supposed to be kinda crap, but whatever. we'll see if i even make it that far before worrying about all that.

nope.

enterprise is uneven. voyager had some of the worst acting i've ever seen on a long running series, tng was really good from the third season on with a few bright spits in the first two, dn9 was alright, but it annoyed me and the original is a fucking crap shoot storywise and the old timey special effects just make it hard at times even when it was good.

also ranking shit is dumb.

and they're all hokey, but i love them just the same.

except voyager. because fuck tom paris.

and chakotay.

also, you perv.

The binge is real. I don't ever watch seasons in episodes anymore, I watch them as 8+ hour movies.

Anyone knows if some of ye olde Doctor Who seasons are on BBC Iplayer? Might be worth getting a good VPN for.
