What's cookin', good lookin'? Part II

Hubbs made pot roast, mashed potatoes and creamed corn.
Complete with pan gravy.

Yumms!

Egg, cheese (2 types - mozarella and sharp cheddar), onion and tomato scramble. And pop tarts. Gotta have me sum pop tarts.

Not mine by any means, but I just discovered the existence of this refined bit of chocolate confectionery. I think I may have to visit Manhattan or Vegas to get a slice, though.

Mmm, that looks so chocolatey i may need a heavy dose of insulin just looking at it. AND I'M NOT EVEN DIABETIC

Spaghetti carbonara.

One of my favorites, but for some reason I can't talk anyone else in my house to put it on our menu. For me, it's a restaurant-only choice. Tonight: baked pasta with pesto and tiny tomatoes. And red wine. Lots of red wine.

On the menu today is veggie couscous with harissa coated eggplant.

I have plenty of avocados right now that are just about to become the perfect ripeness and I have no idea what to do with them. I'm bored with all the usual ways I have them, ie. avocado pasta, chopped in salads, guacamole and simply spread on a sandwich instead of butter.

Ideas?

Feed a hungry pirate!
All that sounds so so good!

I picked up a recipe card in a super market yesterday for avocado and lime tart ( dessert). . I cannot eat it right now nor do I have any one to cook it for at the moment.

I love avocados. I'd eat one every day if I could. Just buy it's self, or smeared on sourdough toast with a little salt. I just LOVE avocado!

Avocado and lime tart does sound interesting. Any more details on it? :)

I like to eat avocado with bread too, but for some reason I'm just not feeling it right now. Avocado smeared on dark rye bread with a little salt and basil and tomato or cilantro and red onion. Ahh, that's really good, but I just haven't felt like eating bread for a few weeks now.

Anyone here eat Borage ? picked up some seeds today trying to figure out the best way to eat it

I mostly grow it because it's pretty and the bees can't get enough of it. I have a friend who eats both the flowers and the leaves. As far as I know, he only eats them fresh in salads, sandwiches, that sort of thing. The flowers are more delicate in flavor than the leaves, I think. The texture of the leaves is unpleasant to me.

It's worth growing just for the bees, though. No other herb, flower, or vegetable I've put in my garden has drawn bees like borage, and bees are so good for the garden. :)

Rabbit croquettes.

Instead of the smattering of veg in the recipe (1t per cup of meat) I did a whole cup of hearty stew type veg. Onion, carrot, celery, garlic, mushroom and parsley.

I also added a smattering of parmesan to the white sauce so it had a lovely hint of alfredo-ish-ness.

I love croqettes. My kiddo thought these were pretty awesome. My husband doesn't love them but was kind enough to "mm-hmm" and nod his head when I asked what he thought of them.
