So says Carl Bernstein, one of two reporters who broke the Watergate scandal which eventually led to Nixon stepping down in disgrace.

With Trump continuing his tirade against a free and open press, as outlined in the First Amendment to the Constitution, Bernstein says, That's a "demagogue's statement," in reference to Trump claiming real news is the enemy of the people.

Even the comedian Limbaugh has gotten into the act of demonizing a free and open press by lying, "The press is the enemy of Trump."

Apparently in both their minds reporting what is said by the con artist is tantamount to treason. One can only presume they would prefer the press be more like that envisioned in Orwell's 1984 wherein the press says what the leader tells them to say.

Come to think of it, that's exactly what happens in Russia and with Trump's well known admiration for the dictator Putin, it all makes sense.

I think the effect of Trump is worse than of Nixon because Nixon played the game, he didn't throw it all out of the window. But I think Trump is just being natural Trump and didn't hide any of that from the voters. Nixon was more devious and intentional. I blame Trump on the voters much more than I blame Nixon on the voters.

Phony premise. The press isn't free and open. If it was it wouldn't be 90% liberal.
