I'm going to Boston in April for a conference and will have a few extra days on my own. Is there anyone that has been there or lives that has any suggestions for places to see, eat etc... any little tidbits that would help me navigate around. Is it easy to navigate around the city? Thanks!

1.Harvard square, and eat at the old bailey's.
2.The pier, and eat at the seafood restaurant that's on the docks, its the upper floor of a warehouse. forgot its name.
3. Science Museum
4. Aquarium.

Other than that, depends what u like. walk around downtown its nice. And if u liked Cheers, there's an exact replica pub/restaurant.

It is a walking city. If you like history, do the Freedom Trail, you will see everything.
Fenway Park.
Newberry St if you like expensive boutiques.
Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Lots of good eats.
Cheers, the outside looks the same but the inside is completely different. A tourist trap.

Don't do any driving if you can help it. The trains go everywhere you should want to go. The roads are notoriously eccentric and the drivers aren't much better.

If you're into American history at all, there are few places more interesting than Boston. The North End is fun to stroll through, and there are restaurants everywhere. The Boston Common is not to be missed. The main art museum is first rate, and the Gardner Museum is right across the street. And of course there's Fenway Park, if your taste runs to obnoxious frontrunners.

I am betting Anthony's Pier 4.

If you like Italian, everything in the North-end is fab. The smaller the place, the better the food.

No no.. This was a totally non fancy place. Diner style. Like going to a Wendy's only for seafood. I remember now why I forgot its name.

It's called: No Name restaurant!

They were fishermen who made sandwiches for the workers on the docks. Became so famous, they opened up a restaurant. They got paid in cash only up to a few years ago.

Thanks. I was told by my ex to try legal seafood, so I might give it a whirl. I'm hoping the weather will not be freezing. If it's like Ohio I'm screwed, freeze one day, sweat the next. Lol. History sounds good. I honestly could use the refresher, I kinda zoned out in school, sad to say. Cheers, definitely not my age bracket, I know of it but never saw it.

The weather will probably be cool rather than cold. Remember, Boston is on the coast. I assume it has fewer clouds than Ohio because pretty much every other place on Earth does.

Legal Seafood is definitely on the "to do" list, but if you are short of time they also have a full restaurant at Logan Airport.

The duck boat tours are fun, but that's mostly in the summer.

What amused me was staying on the waterfront and being woken up at 6 a.m. each morning to a megaphone shouting "stroke! stroke!" No, it wasn't the Literotica daily conservative circle jerk, it was several college crew teams getting their daily practice rowing extraordinarily fast up and down the Charles river.

Boston is the only city I've seen that has beggars out in negative 10 degree weather.

The Hard Rock Cafe there has a YUUUGE shrine to local boys done good Aerosmith.

You mean in boston?

Harvard square. there's stalls that sell books on the street, old books. You can't help but pick a couple of thick journals from the early 1800's or 1900's.

The square's bookstore, forgot its name, harvard bookstore perhaps, is cool. lotsa stuff.
