Just came back from several days of hectic travel. I took a couple of shots at the hotel, hope you enjoy:

I do like those gauzy curtains in the second picture. I think we should put on a shadow play.

Thank you, Icy. Yeah, I really liked the look of it myself. Every so often I get lucky and a shot just works. I usually don't recognize ahead of time what is going to look good, but if I just keep shooting, I stumble into something.

Ah. Maybe I'm using the wrong term. I thought 'odalisque' in art terms was a reclining figure, usually on a chaise longue or similar, stretched out. Having Googled a little, I think it's because there was an 'original work' depicting a female slave and it had that title (Ingres? Tali probably knows), and the pose then became known by that name.

It's a good pose for men and women, I think, because you can hide or show exactly as much as you feel like by the placing of your arms and hands.

So, yeah, that one. Do that one.

P.S. Concubine, though. *shivers* I think I might have a little fantasy of being a concubine. And I think you might be feeding it, there, JRP... I watched a film a couple of weeks ago called 'Dangerous Beauty' about a concubine in Venice. Rather sexy.

I like how all three pictures came out. This causes me to blush a bit since it incites other thoughts...I know I'm wrong as two left shoes, but I will have to stay focused in church today

I love the strong legs, the veins in your hand, the little glint of the ring. Gorgeous. You look ready for boarding, if I might be so bold...

(On the blurry-face: you can sometimes get away with it, or at least minimise the need for it, by turning your face right away from the camera. Most of your face is then actually not visible anyway, and the blurring is way less intrusive if needed at all. Just my thought...)

That's beautiful JRP. Maybe if you'd have looked towards the window that would have helped with the disguising. It's a lovely pose and shot though.

Silly me, turn my head away from the camera . . . why didn't I think of that? Except then you'd get a view of my bald spot. All-in-all, maybe blurry face is the better option.
