Great smile Aquagal! If I were cattle, you'd stop me in my tracks.

Thank you!

Cattle...hmmm

I think I need a holster for my gun, to strap across my chest for easy access while hiking. Something to take down a brownie...if need be.

I'm too old to switch... been PC since DOS... but I have enough peeps around me with the "Jobs variation" that LOVE their machines, not to diss them. :D

After all, my PHONE runs IOS, so I guess I've been sucked towards the supposed "Dark Side", eh? ;)

Thank you!

Ummm... Wouldn't a Kodiak/Alaskan Brown... require a tad more oomph than a 9mm/.38?

I'm unsure where you came up with that size.

I've not gone gun shopping yet.

Well, I was trying to be subtle...

I'd be going .44 Mag in any bear-defence pistol, myself. But I'm sure that where you live, you're more "au courant" than I.

I don't know where your aim is to go with subtlety. I was given a shotgun last summer and told to use that. I'd need to strap it on my back and it seems kind of big, for me, so I didn't even bother learning how to shoot, clean, know it inside out.

I want to be able to grab it from my chest and not fumbling behind me or beside me wearing a backpack also.

Well, I believe the phrase "loaded for bear" was coined for a reason... NOT trying to tell you what to do... just commenting that YOUR bears are way bigger and more dangerous than ours... (eastern black) so if it were me, I'd be going as big as I could.

:shrugs:

I bought my first MacBook 6 years ago and it was not an easy transition from Windows OS. As soon as I got over everything feeling back to front - I realised how amazingly intuitive everything was. No matter what I'm using my Mac for - I am always enjoying the form and function of the machine. I still have my old laptop running Windows and it works fine - but it just feels very backwards and clunky in comparison.

For all the shit posted here and about here there are some dear, sweet, generous and kind souls in the GB.

There are lots. Some have earned a permanent place in my heart even though we're no longer in touch. Wonderful people do that - leave their mark.

Test drive on Tuesday by the way. I hope it doesn't snow because I no longer have good winter protection and with no big snows yet - I don't want to plonk down $ on something I'll get one good wear out of before having to pack away again. I bought some beautiful plum-colored mid-calf Doc Martens in 2013 and haven't needed them since. They're not even broken in! Now I'll have to wait until my gait is corrected or they'll be worn unevenly.

Layers. I will wear layers.

Yer local gun club has rentals Saturday after next. You might give them a call and chat, and then try some out.

Thor recommends squeezing my poles, so I'll try that too.

What Thor neglected to mention is that there are some poles you can squeeze that have their own internal heating mechanism.

Right. Across the chest. Don't strap it to your back unless you're in a "Die Hard" movie.
You're going to take down a brownie? Like a girl scout? Or a bear?

You're kind of an odd duck.

You're so good to me, gonna check that out. Thank you!

Okay, that made me laugh.

Right. Across the chest. Don't strap it to your back unless you're in a "Die Hard" movie.

I hope neither! A just in case so I don't have to drag my gun-toting gf along when I go.

Richard Hatch has passed awa.

The survivor guy?

I'm an Apple girl. And I don't just mean my shape.

I just bought myself an Apple Watch as a promotion gift.

What a coincidence that so many of the socialist Blurt Bitch Thread vets are Apple lovers, too.

Socialist Alphabet and facebook can't quite stomach obeying the Communist Party of China, so they don't do business there. But Apple has no problem totally obeying the Communist Party, working communist hand-in-communist hand with the Party to create and maintain the planet's most draconian firewall, producing hardware and software so the communist government can ID every Chinese who dares try to reach the outside world through that firewall, and even voluntarily monitoring individual Chinese citizens to report to the communist government.

American socialists should be very proud paying premium $$$ for Apple products here so that the wholesale digital oppression of the Chinese people can continue there.

oddly enough its people's intense brand loyalty that turns me off from apple products. it triggers the nonconformist side of me to kick in.

i got an iphone 4 as a gift, tried it for a year. it wasn't impressive, didn't even have many of the features that my previous phone had 2 yrs earlier

when i get a new phone, one of the first things i do is find the auto signature that reads something like "sent from my blah blah blah device" and delete it

Squeeze and release, squeeze and release, with each stroke!
I'm not totally convinced that Thør is talking about snowshoeing...

I'm the opposite. I never want to have a computer that isn't a MAC, but I didn't care for iOS when I was at a critical phone juncture. I ended up in Samsung land and I'm on my third one now. Plus, SWIPE isn't available for iOS, and I love that keyboard. Its one of the few apps I've ever paid for.
