Who's your pick and why?
I'm (God help me) going with the Patsies.
On paper it's a good match up and there is no reason that Atlanta can't win. The latest line I've seen shows the Patsies +3, which is as close to a tie game as you can get. But over the years I've seen that sort of line before and more times than not the game(s) turned into a blow out. That is NOT to say that the Patsies are going to blow Atlanta away, merely that no matter who the winner is the score is going to be lopsided.
Why am I going with the Patsies? All of the intangibles in the game lean their way. Starting with the organization itself. From the owner, to the front office, to the coaching, to the players. The are obviously very sharp and well integrated into a total organization. Admittedly I don't know all that much about the Atlanta organization, but they don't have the experience of working together that the Patsies have.
And then there is the fact that the Patsies, and Brady, have been beaten up by damn near everyone that isn't a die hard fan, including the league. I believe that they are a team out to prove something, not just beat Atlanta. In other words they're going to be playing for a hell of a lot more than the Lombardi trophy.
So even though I celebrate every time New England gets its ass kicked, my money is going on the Patsies.
