Swedish deputy prime minister mocks Trump with all-female photo

http://www.rawstory.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Isabella-Lovin-afp-478x257.jpg

Sweden’s deputy prime minister, Isabella Lovin, on Friday published a photograph of herself signing a climate bill surrounded by her closest female colleagues, mocking a photo of US President Donald Trump.

In the photo, Lovin, who also serves as environment and development aid minister, is seated at a desk as she signs the bill under the watchful eye of seven female colleagues, including one who is visibly pregnant.

The shot parodies a photo taken of Donald Trump on January 23 in the White House, as he signs a decree barring US federal funding for foreign NGOs that support abortion, as his all-male colleagues look on.

Sweden, a pioneer in women’s rights, is known for its high level of women in the workplace, including in parliament and government.

“We are a feminist government, which shows in this photo. Ultimately it is up to the observer to interpret the photo,” the Swedish minister wrote in a comment to AFP.

The climate bill she is signing in the photo aims to make Sweden carbon neutral by 2045 and “marks a new era in Swedish climate politics,” Lovin wrote.

“There is a global demand for climate leadership. I want to show that Sweden is ready to take that leadership,” she added.

How much longer before the world turns to Europe for Leadership? Will the Canadians start building a wall?

Maybe they should put on their collective pussyhats and figure out why Swedes needs to go to Norway to find work.

German Trump Trolls!

Trump beheading Statue of Liberty cover sparks criticism

German news magazine Der Spiegel sparked controversy Saturday with a cover depicting US President Donald Trump holding the severed head of the Statue of Liberty in one hand and a bloodied knife in the other.

The weekly used for its front page an image by US-Cuban artist and political refugee Edel Rodriguez with the Trumpian slogan “America first” next to it.

“On our cover the American president beheads the symbol which has welcomed migrants and refugees to the United States since 1886, and with democracy and freedom,” Spiegel’s chief editor Klaus Brinkbaeumer told German news agency DPA.

The image, which shows an orange face featureless save for a wide-open mouth, was seized upon for discussion by other media outlets in Germany and beyond.

Bild tabloid saw a direct parallel with Mohammed Emwazi, the British national known by the pseudonym “Jihadi John”, who was seen in several videos showing the beheading of Islamic State hostages.

Is this an example of #artfacts?

Carbon neutral and policies dealing with climate change are good ideas.

The 'problem' lies in that doing the good and right thing is not usually easy or cheap. Doing bad is easy. Being lazy even more so. Anything worth having...

Carbon neutral and policies dealing with climate change are good ideas.

They are not inherently good just because climate change.

Within the subject of environmental law there has been a plenty of both good and bad, to sum it all up as "more= better" is not only naive but beyond ignorant as shit.

Trump team literally can’t find the White House light switches

Dumb and Dumbest!

Among the secrets of statecraft which Pres. Donald Trump and his governing team have yet to acquire is the location of light switches in the White House, apparently.

A New York Times story published Sunday night said that Reince Priebus, Stephen Miller and the rest of the Trump team are currently stumped as to how to turn on the lights in the White House cabinet room.

“Aides confer in the dark because they cannot figure out how to operate the light switches in the cabinet room,” wrote the Times‘ Glenn Thrush and Maggie Haberman. “Visitors conclude their meetings and then wander around, testing doorknobs until finding one that leads to an exit. In a darkened, mostly empty West Wing, Mr. Trump’s provocative chief strategist, Stephen K. Bannon, finishes another 16-hour day planning new lines of attack.”

Among other revelations in the article are the fact that there is tension between Pres. Trump and top advisor Stephen K. Bannon. Trump is reportedly upset that “he was not fully briefed on details of the executive order he signed” — an order drafted largely by Bannon.

Trump is reportedly frustrated with his low poll numbers and the amount of resistance to his policies and appointees have met with the public.

Newsmax.com CEO and Trump confidant Chris Ruddy told the Times, “I think, in his mind, the success of this is going to be the poll numbers. If they continue to be weak or go lower, then somebody’s going to have to bear some responsibility for that.”

“I personally think that they’re missing the big picture here,” Ruddy fretted with regards to Trump’s staff. “Now he’s so caught up, the administration is so caught up in turmoil, perceived chaos, that the Democrats smell blood, the protesters, the media smell blood.”

There is blood in the swamp water!

Trump demanded America’s NATO money back from France’s Hollande in messy phone call: report

“It was a difficult conversation, because he talks like he’s speaking publicly,” the official explained. “It’s not the usual way heads of state speak to each other. He speaks with slogans and the conversation was not completely organized.”

According to the official, Trump said he was fine with the French involvement with NATO but the U.S. “wants our money back.”

According to a White House press release on the phone call, “President Trump reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to NATO and noted the importance of all NATO Allies sharing the burden on defense spending. The leaders also lauded our combined efforts to eliminate ISIS in Iraq and Syria.”

"According to the White House" is an #altfact notification phrase. Fake News needs to be labeled to prevent the Trumpmania from spreading.

Speaking at the National Prayer Conference last week, Trump mentioned his calls with world leaders, telling the attendees: “When you hear about the tough phone calls I’m having, don’t worry about it. Just don’t worry about it.”

Trump's delusion of adequacy is a danger to us all.
