1) Who in their right fucking mind is going to swim across an alligator infested channel of water?

2) You don't have to pay alligators to be border security guards.

3) You don't have to feed them because they'll have plenty of Mexican fast food to snack on.

4) Racists will come from miles around just to see an illegal attempt to cross - Tourist $$$$

Edited to add: That was what was wrong with Hadrian's Wall during the Roman Empire. The raiders came around the wall and attacked coastlines far to the South.

Hadrian's Wall was more of a tax barrier than a defensive fortification. It was also the symbolic end of Roman rule - beyond here are barbarians. It was used as a defensive fortification at times but troops had to be stationed elsewhere on vulnerable coastlines as well. It was expensive, a status symbol and eventually useless.

Building a wall across our entire southern border will be both expensive and ineffective.

Trump wont build a wall.

He'll do what most nations do.

He'll build Siberia like camps for the wetbacks.

He'll locate the camps in places you cant get to or escape from.

My youngest went to such a camp. The welcome center was 20 miles from the closest paved road, and the camp was another 20 miles away in the swamp. There were no fences or guards. Graduation involved finding your way back to the welcome center, it took 2 days.

There are islands out in the Everglades far from paved roads, and the surrounding swamp is alive with alligators and crocogiles.
