Toy storage

Does anyone have a tips for storage of silicone/rubber toys? In the past, I laid a towel down in a drawer, but that leaves the towel fibers all over it. I need a better method.

There are special bags for toys. Check out toy shops. I think toy demon had some, but I'm not sure.

Also any microfiber should be good.

If you just want to line a drawer, something like aluminum foil would not stick or react to silicon. Personally I have mine in a lockable plastic toolbox.

Storing toys made out of dissimilar materials can be an issue as some types are chemically reactive with others and if they touch it can cause one or the other to melt. (BTW, I also have the same issue with bass lures in my fishing tackle box.)

We keep ours in a canvas weekend bag with a lock. The lock is a holdout from when we had kids at home and we wanted to protect the contents from prying eyes. We still use the lock though when traveling to protect the contents from the prying eyes of bellmen or baggage handlers.

To protect from the possibility of chemical reactivity between toys of dissimilar materials, and just to keep the toys clean, most are wrapped in thin cotton musliin baby blankets which doesn't have the fuzz of a towel to stick to the toys. We have a few, like a Rabbit Vibrator and a double ended silicon dildo that are kept in the containers in which they originally came.

Thank you, everyone, for the great ideas and advice so far. :) One more question: After cleaning toys, is it better to let them air dry?

yes. Well, how will you dry them otherwise?

Depends on the toys too. Male masturbators are better cleaned with a soft spongy brush for cleaning bottles. Because you just can't get the moisture out of there otherwise.

Dildoes and stuff (silicone) are better left to dry out for a few minutes / an hour.

Glass, metal and Plastic toys don't really require anything. Wipe them with a towel and store them away.

See what a dirty mind can do? I thought the thread was about "Toy Story" not "Toy Storage." But once I started reading it, I got to thinking about Woody...and Buzz...now those are GREAT names for dildoes!

I would really love a Pelicase with foam cut to fit the objects.
The only better option would be an oiled mahogany case with green or reed velvet compartments.

But I just have a couple of plastic boxes.

I keep mine in silk bags and separated with lingerie dividers in a drawer. And yes, as mentioned previously you always want to let your toys dry completely before storing them as you don't want to encourage bacteria growth.

I've had a bunch of toys "melt" when stored together in the same drawer. That was an annoying, gross and somewhat expensive mistake. Separate silk bags for everything is a good idea. They pay for themselves.

Whatever works, silicone must never touch another silicone, because they literally wield together. Even if you use a towel or a handkerchief - it helps.
So never just trow them in together - if you don't have anything specific - wrap a towel over them to separate. You may end up needing to clean them from hairs and fabric pieces, but at least they won't be ruined.

I have a few expensive toys that came with their own storage bags/cases, but for everything else I use ziploc freezer bags. The heavy duty kind. They're thicker and made a little different than regular ziploc bags. I don't store any of my toys together. They are all washed, dried completely, stored in their own airtight bag, and tosses in my toybox. It's inexpensive, they're not gonna fall out of the bags; plus, it's clear so you can see what's in each bag without having to rummage around. I even store stuff like velcro cuffs, nipple clamps, rope, etc. In their own bag so they stay clean. Just nothing leather.
