Fast and furious, Trump style.

I don't care what your particular brand of politics is but if one sits back and watches what's going on in DC you have to be somewhat amazed. Maybe pissed off, maybe ecstatic, but still amazed.

Trump has everyone, and I mean everyone, scampering around like a cat chasing a laser pencil. The old paradigm of floating a policy/initiative/etc., letting the press dissect it, the politicians pontificate, and the special interest groups, pro or con, mobilize, before actually taking action is gone with yesterdays trash. They're all being jerked around so quickly that they barely have time to catch a breath, let alone game a 'sound bite' response. He's following through on his campaign pledges with blazing speed. I only wish Merle Haggard was around to witness this.

On top of that he's schmoozing with the congress critters, critters of both parties. Forming personal relationships, something his predecessor was loath to do. And indeed no president since LBJ has interacted so profusely with congress. This is an indication that Trump really does know the limitations of his powers.

To say that Trump is 'energetic' is an understatement. Very few presidents in the history of the US have been so energetic. Outside of the wartime presidents, who had no real choice in the matter, only A. Jackson and T. Roosevelt come to mind. One might argue JFK as well, but even he wasn't quite up to the Trump energy level.

My observation on all of this is that we are witnessing the actions of a man that is NOT a politician. Right, wrong, or indifferent he's hell bent for leather to get things done. And those that are trying to shoehorn him into the mold of the conventional politician are going to be continually befuddled.

Living in interesting times indeed.

I wish he was around too, but what on earth does Merle Haggard have to do with anything?

As for the rest of it, I've known plenty of 4-year-old boys who couldn't sit still either. Didn't mean they had any kind of plan.

Trump has a lot of lost time to make up, since he wasted so much taking a victory tour and watching SNL.

America isn't accustomed to having an actual executive leading the executive branch. :)

I've always thought that he was a jerk-off. After he got elected and continued to campaign I concluded that he was just a damned good salesman who sold enough people bullshit to get himself elected. Having watched him and his staff since the inauguration, I think that it should be obvious to everyone that he is emotionally disturbed.

I started a thread on about one-twentieth of this a couple of days ago when the Big Labor boys were on the White House lawn after meeting with Trump.
They were very, very pleased with the direction Trump has in mind. Trump is talking about good jobs, a better regulatory climate and a competitive tax structure. Obama mocked the type of jobs Trump was talking about six months ago, the kind of jobs that are in fact returning now.
"These jobs just aren't coming back," the job-killer in chief said.

That doesn't necessarily preclude some one from being a good leader. In fact most leaders are borderline psychopaths.

The other significance of Big Labor coming around is, of course, that it has been a reliable bloc for Democrats.
I would bet a lot of union workers voted for Trump simply because they prefer working, and perhaps the talking heads of Big Labor are just reading the writing on the wall and know they'll lose their positions if they don't get on board.
There are some aspects of Trump's brief tenure that are regrettable. Overall, though, I'd say the first few days have been incredibly promising.

The Democrats are in trouble (haven't those tables turned from the popular talking points of just 11 weeks ago?), and it figures to get worse for them if they put up a fight against a secure border. Americans of all parties favor having an actual southern border, even if the Democrats (and some Republicans) in Congress aren't.

Pull your head out of your ass and read about the commitments major corporations are making in the U.S. RIGHT NOW!

Most of which were decided long ago. You can't be this dumb...can you?

When a president goes through the white house doors
An' does what he says he'll do
We'll all be drinking that free bubble up
And eating that rainbow stew

From "Rainbow Stew."

He's starting to look old to me already. No time for morning make-up? :)

And Obama didn't tout them because ... ?
And speaking of dumb, do you think high taxes, big government and the big regulations that come with it are seen as welcoming by these corporations?

Some of you don't see it yet but you will. Other will never admit "...he isn't wearing anything at all!"
