I'm going to get flamed here, but is beyond a joke. There are many stories in here I have read and the spelling, pronunciation and grammar leave a hell of a lot to be desired - but they are obviously accepted.

I have just had a major two part work tossed out on the grounds I have to get the spaces and commas correct. OK I'm no where near correct but I have tried and done as much as I can.

Yes - I've had problems all the way through my activity in this site, so people will not look kindly on this post, but I work hard to create my stuff. Frankly I can't see much wrong with the subject piece, I worked as hard on it as other equally recent works now accepted.

I have a feeling that there are several people checking our works and are working to their own criteria.

That does happen. Download Grammerly. Use it. Fix the mistakes, over and over if need be. Have someone look it over. Maybe they'll see something you missed. Submit it again. Eventually it will get approved.

how many words is the piece? you can send it to me via email, in a word document and i'll take a gander. as long as it isn't too long!

alos, how are you sending the work to Lit? are you doing copy and paste or uploading a document? formatting can switch during the process, depending.

Snowy, it seem to me that you desperately need Beta reader and an Editor.

Thanks, I am going to use something to improve, possibly a regular editor, sympathetic to the UK wordings and vernacular and get in first time, but I submitted about 2 pieces on the same basis and they are in.

What is Beta please?

I copy and paste from my Open Office Writer, which is where I create them.

19000 words, but split in half for two parts

uk wording, spelling, grammar, and vernacular aren't a problem for lit. i use english all the time. proper english, not that garbled crap you get elsewhere. (joke, before anyone gets their knickers in a twist). ;)

a beta is a a reader, a fresh pair of eyes. someone who can spot the errors we're blind to as the writer.

does the programme you use paste faithfully into Litspeak?
