Justice League: The New Wave (OOC - Interest Check)

I've honestly tried coming up with a slightly older model for Huntress, but so far all the pieces I've been collecting have been for Victoria.

Honestly, she's fine. She looks right within the 25-year-old bracket I was thinking of-- but there's nothing written she can't be slightly younger than Power Girl anyway.

If anything, Katheryn Winnick is slightly older than I would like to play a 25-year-old Karen, but I desperately wanted to use her as a faceclaim anyway. Maybe I'll try to find a younger picture of her...

If you're looking for somewhere that Velocity can open up, I suggest The Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. A lot of land-speed records have been set there because it's so perfectly flat and so forth. Also there was a really epic, emotional fight scene set there in LDoK, and it's where The Six Million Dollar Man crashed and had to get rebuilt.

I've been thinking a lot about how Barry's identity became public knowledge in this timeline, and I think that Dr. Alchemy transmuted away Barry's uniform in the middle of a fight, exposing his face to the public. That's how Wally West's identity got revealed, might as well stick with the classics. I don't know if that's something you want to reference in Velocity's research, but I wanted to put that out there in case it was something that you wanted to add for verisimilitude.

I don't recall a specific instance of Atom's outfitting an Arrow with shrinky-dink quivers but I don't see why he couldn't. If I remember right, shrinking and enlarging inanimate objects is easy with white-dwarf technology, it's shrinking living things that gets messy-- biologics tend to explode when shrunk too long, if they don't have Atom's work-arounds.

That having been said, I believe we've discussed something similar to this before, and in light of those discussions I've included a younger Ray Palmer on the roster of The Titans just so Connor can consult him. If you'd like to do a scene with Connor and Ray talking shop, I'd be happy to co-write that with you!

Speaking of which, I suspect that Roy "Red Arrow" Harper should interact with Connor at some point, Ollie's honorary son tracking down his biological one, but since Roy is off doing the "lone wolf" thing at the moment it probably wouldn't be until later. Would you be okay with that?

Okay everything sounds great. I will have Velocity check the Leagues data bases and learn about Barry's career and then go to Bonneville to train. Also do a few other things, (Vibrating through objects etc).

Also agree about Connor talking to Roy. That will be a fun conversation :)

If this plague doesn't claim me first I should have a bio up this afternoon. Chas has already read and approved, just can't post it from my phone.

Braggock

Alias - Braggock

Age - 27

Appearance - Imagine a 7ft tall 450lb man shape made of an obsidian-like substance, with orange glowing traceries all over his cracked form, and eyes like orange/red banked coals

Personality - Braggock has always been the strong and methodical type, careful in his actions lest he cause harm. He's not stupid, though some have made that mistake about him. He is very physical and likes to work with his hands. He is kind and loves animals and children. He gets extremely enthusiastic about those things he finds joy in.

Gear (optional) - Given his size and fiery nature, Braggock finds it hard to keep clothing around, thus he has a large collection of sweat pants, track suits and hoodies, most of them with the Superman logo on them.

Power/ability - Super strength, Invulnerability, Ambient heat absorption and control of his inner flame as a weapon.

Weakness - Braggock is made of the materials of a meteor, thus any magnetic powers effect him, as do gravity based powers, because of his tremendous weight. Cold effects him greatly, and he lacks will power, so psychic powers easily confuse or misdirect him.

Bio - Timothy Perdu Braggock is of Polish Romanian descent and has lived in Central city his whole life. His parents were hard-working but poor, due to a lack of education. Theo Braggock worked in a steel mill, and as a young boy, Braggock saw his father as a 'man of steel'. He was an only child who excelled at sports and weightlifting, but failed academically. He went to work from a young age in construction, and can do most contractor work, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, brick-laying etc. He studied martial arts and was an amateur MMA fighter before his accident. He is single with no children.

He loves Superman with an almost childlike wonder, but would never embarrass himself enough to say so. He also likes golden oldies music, especially Motown.

Braggock was working on a construction job for the city when the meteor struck the building site. He was buried under the flaming rubble for a great deal of time, waking only when the heat from the impact began to cool. The consciousness of Tim Braggock took time to coalesce and identify itself.

Having formed himself a body of the substance of the crash, Braggock found a squat nearby to live in, to hide and attempt to figure out what happened to himself. He dresses in human clothes and listens to human music in order to hold onto his identity. Perhaps in time he will outgrow such crutches.

Aptitude & Powers: Braggock can manipulate the heat inside himself to control fire as a weapon. He can shape it into things, or hurl it at his foes. He absorbs heat from the atmosphere constantly, but can run out of energy if he is in a prolonged fight. He can also absorb energy from fire or heat that is directed at him, but can be overwhelmed by too much and forced to release it explosively.

Braggock has training in several different forms of martial arts, but mostly specializes in grappling and throws. He is a strength fighter, not a dex fighter. The flames of his power are often used to enhance his punches.

Finally was able to think about what Nightwing might be doing during the two week gap. It really depends on what happens with Aquaman. He'll either be sticking around the HQ and studying his team and figuring out how best to use them in combat. Or he'll return home and have a long awaited talk with father-dearest.

Or renegade follows him and annoys the hell out of him

This is just provisional, and can be altered Chas.

I would like to hear something in the bio of the circumstances of the meteor strike, and the subsequent year-long hibernation that you mentioned?

Has he already been awake, or is he just about to wake up and emerge from the ground when he joins the story? What kind of a mind-screw would that be for him to wake up in Central City right after Kobra's goons have just raked Keystone-Central over the coals!

...it's also kind of interesting to me that he's a diehard Superman fan growing up in The Flash's city, he must have been kind of an odd man out as a kid, dressing up as Supes for Halloween when everyone else was dressing as Barry...

I think he should maybe be a little smarter? 60s or 70s for Intelligence?

I also think that actual Superman-level strength should be fairly rare, but I'm willing to hear that out.

Varshanka, do you have any notes?
