So far we've been enjoying joining the Lit boards, but something we want to ask. Why do some of you come to Lit? And if you have the courage be open and honest as you can be with us. We want to get to know people like us better.

We are a married couple that loves each other, are each other's best friend, we love being open and honest about wants and needs sexually, but also we like to see what others like, we like knowing we're not alone. In our real lives we can't talk with other friends about our love of pleasure and play. We know most of us can't in real life. It's just how life is.

There have been, and are, other threads on the topic one of which morphed into someone's private post of one liners.

I first came to Literotica to post one of my stories after a friend from another forum encouraged me to do so. I had no idea there was also a forum at the time.

When I first came to the forum, it was to be accepted by like minded people and to have an intelligent discourse with people who shared some of the same sexual orientations, ideas, and especially kinks with me. Though people had disagreements it was largely an accepting place.

I could come here with thoughts of, "What's wrong with me? Why am I so different?" and finding people who did and felt the same things as me left me feeling less "odd, peculiar...queer?" I felt that I offered the same kind of support to them as well.

Back then, and though the discussions were still often intimate and the descriptions of sexual practices and ideas graphic, the forums seemed to offer more mutual support than the prurient titillation people seem to want from them today. Most people actually "used their words" and picture posts were few and far between.

I still come here seeking the same kind of interaction but the forums, and people, are different and it seems that cerebral discussions of sex and sexuality have become a rarity.
