I Don't Wanna Stand Still Look Pretty.
With that command, with that tightening tug, The Lasso of Persuasion asserted itself and Planet-Master gritted his teeth-- but could not speak again, could not utilize his powers. After all, he had no gift like The Wisdom of Solomon that could provide him clarity of thought against such impetus.
The chain struck Planet-Master across the head with the force of a railgun, and his helmet blew to splinters...
...he dropped to his knees, mouth open wide in agony though he could not cry out because of his command to be silent...
...and the buckle of his belt fell open, and a tiny, blackened fragment of stone fell out, crackling with the darksome positricity that had wreathed Planet-Master from the beginning...
...but, as though expended of its energy, the shard of black rock burst into dust and was gone.
(Somewhere, each on opposite coasts of The USA, Captains Thunder and Marvel both flinched as though The Devil had walked upon their graves... but then the sensation was gone.)
