I know what I'm doing!

Has no- one heard of oiling a vehicle, annually? Or using a pressure washer or automatic car wash on a regular basis?

There are hundreds of thousands of Canadian and Border State drivers who manage to keep their vehicles roadworthy for literally decades. Our percentage of old cars on the road may be lower than the "Sunbelt", but not hugely so, anymore.

Just st my unscientific observations...

Ahem, Australia... snow is mostly something that happens to other people... salting roads, never.

And the weekend warriors wouldnt know what you're talking about, so, generally no.

Sorry, I missed the Australia reference?

They get snow at higher altitudes south of Canberra, and in Tasmania, according to my friends from Sydney...

Hahaha on weekend warriors- I just thought it was a total HOOT that Richmond, etc., was sharing in our usual white shit quagmire.

Feeling grumpy about cars and the kind of damage over time right now. Wishing I was car-ish to help me make a decision about something.

I like white cars. Tough to keep clean but always look so tidy. Easy to find in the parking lot. Makes the "I  my unicorn" sticker pop out.

It's not ungrateful, it's being safe in their view.

My heart melted a little.

Is there a catch, neuter, release program in your area?

Yes, but it's rare that anyone actually catches one of these guys, they are truly feral (I'm told the master catbase is behind a row of dumpsters at a Golden Corral buffet restaurant nearby).

I recognize many of them by sight now and have nicknamed them (Mrs. Tiggles, Nasty Tom, Dipstick, Grandpa Mange, and Hillary). Dipstick and dipstick junior had the sleepover here last night.

I'm a fan of time travel stories as well. Would you mind sharing some of your favorites?

There's quite a few, in both book and cinematic form. Some I can remember off the bat and some I've gotta think about. I've gotta bounce in a bit, so can't get into it properly as I'd wanna.

Prolly I'll make a separate thread about it later so the topic can stand on its own. Stay tuned! :D

I am not swapping my car till I have to. After spring I hope to use the carriage and my ugly but sweeter than sugar pony for local errand type travel!

I like anonymous cars. My little Po on the other hand, is going to have a floral browband at the very least. Reds and pinks. She's that kind of girl.

I'd like to see a photo of carriage and sugar pony when the spring arrives! When it arrives. As I get older I grow more impatient with winter. I hope we both have an early spring.

White cars seem to grow in popularity and they don't stand out as much in the parking lot as they used to. And mine seems to be dirty all the time. But never mind- - I like my whitish Hyundai.

Feeling grumpy about cars and the kind of damage over time right now. Wishing I was car-ish to help me make a decision about something.

Damage to the car? Or the car's damage to the environment? I didn't start driving until I was 32. I felt no need or desire too. So I guess I'm not "car- ish."

Today's Metropolitan Opera Radio broadcast:

Nabucco

...with Placido Domingo in the title role. Hot damn.
