...NASA has baked in a good 0.2 deg C or so of "adjustments" just since 1995 to give it a comfortable margin to claim a "record" for 2016. Expect that breathless announcement from NASA within the next couple of weeks. (Prior experience indicates that NASA press releases come out around the 18th to the 20th of the month.)

Ice age is a possible result of global warming. Melting Greenland ice cap can shut down the Gulf Stream current. If not for the Gulf Stream the UK would have a boreal climate like Labrador and Norway would be pretty much arctic conditions.

Wait until orbit wobble brings northern hemisphere closest to the sun during summer and winter like the southern hemisphere is now.

Effective January 1, I have resigned my tenured faculty position at Georgia Tech...

...A deciding factor was that I no longer know what to say to students and postdocs regarding how to navigate the CRAZINESS in the field of climate science. Research and other professional activities are professionally rewarded only if they are channeled in certain directions approved by a politicized academic establishment — funding, ease of getting your papers published, getting hired in prestigious positions, appointments to prestigious committees and boards, professional recognition, etc.

How young scientists are to navigate all this is beyond me, and it often becomes a battle of scientific integrity versus career suicide (I have worked through these issues with a number of skeptical young scientists)...​

Because facts don't matter, right? All those scientists, all those raw data readings from satellites (which you mentioned) are wrong. Only you are right because you keep moving the goalposts once the kick up your ass has been made.

Data that shows an insignificant increase is not "wrong." It's insignificant. Pretending that an insignificant, barely measurable increase, well within the margin of error is significant doesn't make it significant, it still is insignificant because of its insignificance.

The only significance this has at all is the fig leaf that it provides to the alarmists, who wish to explain the pause in global warming away.

"No, no, no...You see?!?? The needle moved! Look at that-----> it's a squiggle. No, it's not because we've breathed on the needle.. it's a squiggle.. really, really...it moved! Honest."

None of this is anything for alarmists to crow about. Which is why NASA was cooking the books- to make the squiggle look a little bit bigger. Removing the fraud NASA introduced into the process to reveal that there is a tiny squiggle beneath the fraud that made it a small squiggle doesn't make the squiggle significant.

Not at all the degree of warming that we were assured was imminent by the holy see at the church of the alarmists. The models were all so embarrassingly wrong that it's been quite a while since I've seen anyone from the church of global warming making any specific prognostications about the future other than it's going to get hot and polar bears are going to drown.
