We had a fantastic NYE... The kind I have begun to enjoy since I settled down
after marriage. I have become the Mum I was destined to become eventually
now after five years of marriage. The feelings were warm and content. It was
like Christmas with more booze, hugs and kisses. I think NYE is a family affair.
The only family I had was my children, hubby and someone to me extra special
on NYE... my Mum. Since growing up I have watched her and even more now
realised how important a person she is.
Her children, including myself, have made her a proud grandma, even though
she is Italian she prefers the old english title rather than nona. I noticed how
special all of us were to her especially at a time like new year.
With tears in her eyes she told me, "Every year that passes I see you all grow
up around me, and it is this time of year most of all..." I took her into my arms
and gave her a huge hug, thinking about how much I used to make her worry
so much about me and my chosen lifestyle. "I never lost you," she whispered, "I
just prayed for you and now my prayers have been answered, you are a daughter
I can look up to finally." It was not the influence of drink that brought that very
special moment to the fore just minutes before the new year chimes had begun
Remember: Mothers are precious at all times, especially on new years eve

....& I agree, family is of ultimate importance, especially this time of year.

When you are young and very hedonistic, you forget your parents feelings. During those times with the help of TRT,

well as you say mums know more than they let on a lot of the time - do you find that with being a mum yourself ?
a case of mums not being as out of touch as their children realise and not letting on unless they see any danger in whats happening in their lives - although there are some that take over completely and i don't see you beig that kind of woman
