I was wondering why the GB political threads often turn out to be so full of vitriol, besides the trolling and long term grudge holding and vendettas.
(And even if I'm considered a weak opponent , I was inevitably caught in the crossfire because I had to pick a side.)


And I think it also has to do with the fact that too many participants are more interested in the end result, in achieving a goal (either I convince you to accept My reality and come to my side and I win so bingo! for me), than in the process.

Personally, I couldn't often care less; I'm more interested in the journey and in how people think or how they help Me improve my critical thinking, than in who's right or wrong, good or bad.

I might be a liberal at heart and IRL, but I admire the thinking and knowledge of several board conservatives. So I'm more interested in being more attuned to Their views online, because They help me grow the most.

Moreover, this is just online chat and escape and nobody has the power to apply anything to RL and change the larger social order. So why would it matter anyway who's right or wrong, good or bad in the GB?
 
And as for the LTR - Sean - Saint_Peter triangle:

Lance often says -tongue in cheek of course, but sometimes seriously- that SaintPeter would be a better match for LTR.
Pardon me, Lance, if I vehemently disagree:
Leaving aside other factors as charm or so on, I think that LTR wisely made the right choice, in that she picked the 'bad boy' over the 'nice guy'.

Sean might behave like a total dickhead on the boards and he calls everybody a retard, but at least he's upfront / honest and uncomplicated. And I'm sure that that character trait would manifest itself in his personal life as well..

Whereas SaintPeter likes to behave like one of the 'nice guys'. And 'nice guys' are often complicated.

Thanks. Best compliment someone could have payed me in the GB.
To be viewed this way is clean and non-judgmental.

Because, on the GB any gender evaluation usually carries with it some negative judgmental evaluation: "she's fat or butt ugly or looks like a 'paki'", "he's fat and unable to provide for his family, a loser" and so on.

Genderless - that's how I initially wanted to be treated on the GB.
Unfortunately, one inevitably gets unsolicited bizarre interests into their genitals and sexual life and accusationd of being a trans. (which also added to mypictures posting manic spree)


BTW - I'm not leaving (stop the wishful thinking, pete) . I'll just be posting less often
