The racial pressure in this country is not Obama's legacy, far from it. Look back a hundred years and then fifty. Check out some history about how those of different races and groups have been treated. Today we have instant communication. Twitter can take an event from the street corner and put it across the world in minutes. Groups can organize for protests and rallies. This is not Obama's legacy.

The conservatives should take an honest look at the Obama years. Green Eggs And Ham on the filibuster floor. The republican stoppage of all the good proposals the Obama administration brought to the table. The birth certificate. The shuck and jive bullshit from places like this. Obama did not stoop to those levels. His legacy is that of strength from a man that had plenty of hurdles to get the office and then doing a fine job while in that office.

From what I read online, my impression is that pairaclites is right, ("The US has not been in a worse racial condition in 60 years.") in that racial tensions have increased over the last 10 years.
This escalation did coincide with Obama's presidential term, but the question is:

1. is this escalation due in part to some policies or so on implemented during his term?

2.or are they the legacy of the previous presidents? Or other independent factors

I'm inclined to go with no. 2.

No matter if the protests were right or wrong, we say kings toppled and leadership changed. The 99% people picked up on this. The reaction to perceived heavy handed law enforcement was fueled by this. Years ago you would watch to cops pull somebody out of the car (no matter of guilt or innocence) and you would keep walking down the street. Today you pull out your cell phone and start recording.

I do not blame Obama for the Arab Spring or the protests on Wall Street. It happened on his watch, but so did my cat dying. The cat was old. Obama had nothing to do with it.
