Would like to start chit-chats with British folk on this forum - just because there is a certain commonality of language and the chance that some of them may live near me. Is this possible?

Sorry, I don't understand your request. I'm from America and I speak and write English.

Leeds? That's Oop North for me. Do they speak English in Leeds?

Just would like to talk to folk more 'local' to me and perhaps with the possibility of meeting.

Try turning on your PM... that's 'private messages' where I come from. :D

There are two threads where the Brits sit and chat, both on The Playground. I will warn you that sometimes it is infiltrated by colonists, such as myself, just because we can.

The personals might get you better hits. What do they speak in Leeds?

Yorkshire.

My mother-in-law was from Yorkshire. When she got really angry I couldn't understand her. She was never angry with me, but usually with the local council. We had to get her to calm down and speak proper-like before we knew what she was angry about.

Pudding?

I have to say that you lot aren't giving our newest member a warm greeting.

Very disappointing.

A previous partner (we nearly married) grew up on US airbases around Britain and taught me some annoying Britishisms. Took me decades to shake those off. Learning Spanish helped.

A newbie with little post history suggesting a get together is asking for a lot to be taken on trust. Even long established people find that organising a group meeting face to face or virtual is hard work.

There have been UK Litogethers. While enjoyable, the organisers might be justified in saying "I'll never do that again".

I scheduled several for the NYC crew back in the day....like herdibg cats.

Never again.

There are so few of us in bdsm, but we have managed it with no fuss at fetish fairs and k think some meet at munches/ events. A few people came to our house recently.

If you know the people and have interacted with them over some time? Why not? But a newbie with 3 posts?
