Whilst I quite agree with you about the sending of unsolicited messages, how about the Ladies who do not acknowledge friendly & courteous messages. Where are THEIR manners?

I answer almost all of my pm's on here with the only ones I don't are ones that start out, boy I'd like to _______ you.
I wouldn't feel bad about not having women acknowledge your messages as I sent out 5 to long time women members here in the past week & only 1 replied, but all have been on pretty much daily since. Just wanted to break the ice but that was a major fail lol. They weren't sexual in nature but I get the feeling because I'm bi it scares them. They shouldn't worry since I don't play on here.

As of this morning my pm's are off for awhile

I originally posted it in the Personals, where the audience was more applicable. But, as some are want to do, this thread got reported for not being a personal, so it got moved here

I'm laughing because that "Is it cheating thread.. Blah. Blah . Blah" is no more a personal than mine is, but mine got reported, that one just sits there and continues to get responses...

Love the double-standard of those who like to "report" things.

I don't agree with that behavior, either.

When my PMs were open, I answered everything with as much courtesy as I could muster.
Which is kind of why I don't accept PMs anymore...Lol

I realized that I need to use what little patience I have left to raise my children.

I can't go wasting a commodity as precious as tolerance on people I don't know.

Since I prefer not to be ugly to people, shutting down the PMs has effectively removed all possibility of jack-ass-ed-ness.

I'd also argue that is has not decreased my opportunity for good conversation. Quite the contrary. Conversing openly in the threads affords at least a little bit of accountability from each party involved.

Since when is it a requirement to answer any PM? I don't believe I signed anything stating that if I decided not to keep my PM's off, I had to respond to every one if it was friendly and courteous.

Some are nothing more than "Hi." I mean, really? That means absolutely nothing in this day and age. I can get that passing someone in the grocery store while looking at the different brands of spaghetti sauce. Am I supposed to drop everything, stop, turn to face them because they were friendly? Wait for the conversation to start and pay attention?

Most PM's are nothing more than trolling. "Hey, is she online? If she answers me maybe I can get her to talk dirty to me." It means absolutely nothing and is a waste of my time. It has nothing to do with manners, it has to do with giving me something to work with.

If you're complimenting any part of my body, using something I wrote in a post to take something out of context or build on in order to get your rocks off, I don't care how polite, courteous or friendly it is.

It just absolutely pisses me off that anyone is required to respond to anyone else because of "manners."
