Why is there a gap between literature and porn movies?

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum, but have read many literotica stories.

There is some great writing on Literotica, and given the story setup, character development, and finally, some great sex......my question is, why is there very little porn in the form of movies? Almost everything I see out there is very quickly just a couple of people humping each other.

Literotica demonstrates that there is a desire for intelligent and interesting story development within erotica that is not actually available in movie format.... Unless I'm looking in the wrong place! Every now and again, there might be a video that has elements of seduction and sensuality, but it's very few and far between.

Am I looking n the wrong place, or does this simply not exist?

It used to exist. I recently watched a documentary on Netflix that talked about the best porn movies of all time. Deep Throat, Devil In Miss Jones and a bunch more I can't remember were mentioned. Almost all are older movies. Personally, while I enjoy a good story, I think it gets in the way of the fucking. I don't watch porn for the story. I want to see people getting naked and getting it on. Perhaps a lot of people want a similar experience which might explain the disappearance of "porn with a plot."

Because whereas women also tend to get stimulated by what's going on between the ears, men are mostly visual. Therefore one finds that more men gravitate towards porn than women, and fewer men enjoy reading erotic novels.

So the porn industry caters for it's biggest clientele

because scripts, sets and talent cost a lot fucking money and takes up a lot of fucking time. it just isn't worth it to them especially when it's highly unlikely they'd ever make their money back because the novelty is gone and there's very little chance they'd ever get a wide release in theatres like most of those "classics" enjoyed.

also, the market is flooded. they make ten of thousands of these things a year while hollywood make hundreds of real movies. there's just nothing in it for them.

personally, i prefer the sexart/vivthomas style where it's less plot and instead just a minute or five of visual setup that gives you a general vibe of what's going on and leaving the rest to your imagination. why? because my imagination rules.

that being said, i do love me some joseph sarno, but that's softcore and, honestly, it's mostly because that was some silly ass bullshit. abigial leslie is back in town is a personal fave. it's wonderfully stupid.
