Trump to eliminate taxation of profits to bring companies back!

Our budget is about $3.8 Trillion. The deficit is about $500 Billion. Someone do the maths on that. I don't think it's 40%

1.1 trillion of collected taxes (Which is far less than the federal government would require any pension to set aside in terms of unfunded liabilities) is payroll taxes.

I guess if you count that revenue towards the budget plus count it again for what it's supposed to be funding you could argue that our actual deficit is only the 590 billion dollars that the Feds say it is right this minute.

Eliminate corporate income tax, pump individual income tax on the 1% sky-high, and add an individual wealth/asset tax.

The politics of envy do not increase the income tax intake.

The economy is not a set of incomes, it is a set of mutually beneficial individual transactions. The government has no business whatsoever being involved with income, income streams or wealth (Capital) accumulation. Its purview is the legal framework that protects the transaction and that is where the tax should be (as in Ayn Rand's 'voluntary' contract insurance). All Federal taxes should be on transactions only. Justice should be blind and taxation should be blind; government should not pick winners and losers.

Word of warning: If you feel that it is okay to go after the income of those people above your station in life, keep in mind that everyone below your station will be completely comfortable in going after yours.

Where do you get that number?

The federal government collected a record amount of taxes in fiscal year 2015, totaling $3.25 trillion in revenue, according to the latest monthly Treasury Department statement. The federal government ran a deficit of $438 billion despite the record revenue.

You heard me right. No more excuses for shipping jobs overseas.

So ....... now where does Trump come up with funding for the military, Mexico Fence construction, big brass knockers on the White House, etc?

A futile exercise in theoretics?

Or does the GeeBee Brain Trust actually have credible methods to fund the Fed without leeching the wallets of America's entrepeneurs?

As usual the OP has missed some somewhat important details.

Depending on which source you go to there is somewhere between $1.4 to $2.1 TRILLION, that's right, TRILLION dollars in profits held offshore by US corporations. These are monies that they have already paid taxes on in the various nations in which they operate. But if they bring those dollars back home they will be subjected to another 35% US corporate tax. A tax structure that is even more onerous than the "Death Tax."

So the proposal is to allow those corporations to bring that after tax money back home either tax free or at a seriously reduced tax rate.

Seems to me that those trillions would generate one hell of a lot of domestic economic activity.

And to answer the unasked question, "Why was that tax law passed to begin with?" It was a purposeful act on the part of the globalists to force US corporations to build up foreign nations to compete with us. Level the playing field so to speak. Kinda like GM subsidizing Ford. Brilliant, just fucking brilliant.

POOF!

Corporate Tax is gone.

Now, back to the topic of funding the Military and such without burdening businesses.

I can't decide which is more astonishing, the fact that you don't even know what you're griping about or that you didn't understand a word I wrote.

Ishmael

What's astonishing is that you are an idiot who still didn't comprehend what the topic was about even after a reminder.

Debtclock.org breaks it out. It's become popular to not break out the payroll taxes. Technically they do go into the general fund so it's semu-valid to do it that way but we ought to be honest about what the government is doing.

I don't have the figure handy for spending on those entitlements which is also part of our 3.8 trillion dollar budget so that has to be broken out.

What level is for the warehouse stock boys? I guess for you it's all uphill from here, sensei.

What reminder? The reminder that you're bleating over something that isn't even on the docket? The entire discussion taking place in political circles is how to repatriate those trillions of dollars, not how to eliminate corporate taxation altogether.

Further there are discussions taking place as to the reduction of the corporate tax rates, not elimination, but reduction. The US has the highest corporate tax rate in the developed world, do you think that might have an impact on our ability to compete globally? Do you think that might have an impact on corporate decisions to "off-shore?" Do you think at all?

AJ has walked you down the path of a consumption tax, something that you seemed to be favorably swayed towards. If ever enacted you would see the large foreign corporations "off-shoring" to the US. A globalists and career politicians nightmare come true.

Indeed so...

;)

A boon to the poor too as well as an opportunity for Middle Class advancement.

(With the caveat that not just does the tax system need a complete overhaul, but so too does the Federal regulatory state.)

Politicians, like lawyers, hate surprises. Their goal is to control every aspect of your life. Your health, your energy, your travel. All for your security, well being, and to "save the planet."

To pseudo quote Yoda, "The second coming of Christ they are."

Some people are born to be slaves, or as per Hoffer, to be members of a tribe, and seek control from above so that they do not have to give a thought towards government, as long as there is a firm hand setting the rules for everyone to live by. After every calamity, real or imagined, their call to government is, never let this pass again and this is a clarion call to the professional politician to just do something, anything, e.g., Frank-Dodd...

The obverse of that, as recently, and ongoing, witnessed is for the ruling class to use every calamity, real of imagined, to take a little more freedom (gain control).

Children used to grow up and go out into the world on their own. Now they seem to have found the perpetual parent.............government.

One of our problems, and I hate to keep mentioning this name, Hoffer, is that we keep importing tribalism and South American hacienda slaves in who have that mentality and will vote for tyranny in order to have the same familial and tribal ties they had at home; they don't want to be individuals, they want to be extended members of a family. The penultimate snowflake book was written by a twice-failed presidential candidate, It Takes a Village. It sums up perfectly the progressive endgame.

The Spanish descendants, and those they ruled over, are indoctrinated in the 'Patron' system. The peon's hate it, but as soon as they acquire power they become the 'Patrones.' Hoffer isn't wrong, but his observations are a little misleading. Even the Amer-Indian was a little more sophisticated than that.

Where I think Hoffer is wrong re. his assessment of the modern 'progressive' is summed up in your reference to "it takes a village.' In order for the modern progressive to realize their goals the complete destruction of the family, the community, the individual, must occur. Replace 'village' with 'government' and the picture starts to come into focus. They managed to destroy the families of the Amer-Indian, and the blacks, now they're working on the rest of us. Ironically one of their stumbling blocks is the Spanish speakers. That Patron system heritage makes them very family centric.

His thesis is more about what makes a person join a mass movement and one of those factors is the frustration over the loss of family or political structure. Across all of his writings he echoes this one thought, that when authority finally weakens, that is when change occurs and when a mass movement occurs. To wit, in the US the church has systematically been weakened along with the local community, so people, in frustration and alienation take up with movements where they can be part of a larger union and can lose themselves and their frustrations by taking up the cause.

As he points out among his various examples (and he was writing in the 50s, but a lot of it still seems relative) that the segregated blacks of the South were far less frustrated than their northern counterparts because the former enjoyed a community while the latter tried to integrate and never realized that community. Ergo, #BlackLiversMatter becomes an important bonding experience which the professional politician can use as a tool.

He posits that Judaism has survived because of the severe persecution and prejudice forcing them into tight-knit communities or Zionism.

But your observation is correct, that like the Soviets and NAZIs, you had to have an organization to replace what you have destroyed and that is one of Clinton's points, yes, we are going to weaken the family, but government will now be your new community. So too is it for the one group I mentioned, the other group will never yield to government as long as we allow them to build mosques and import their binding community.

Lot of thoughts there bro.

Starting with the 'group' mentality. That's Marketing 101, the bandwagon syndrome. Combine that with an educational system where the lowest functional quintile, IQ wise, is charged with teaching the upcoming generation and you have the makings of a perfect storm.

re. the blacks. Segregation HAD to end. It was an abomination only an increment short of slavery. And for a window of time it appeared that a homogeneous society was going to happen. But then the sociologists stepped in and convinced the black population that they were a culture apart, an effort that took place side by side with the 'great society' effort to subsidize the disintegration of the black family. So the black citizen was, by law, allowed to go into any establishment (good), and they did so by forsaking the businesses that were built by their own community members. Yet they've insisted that they are still a culture apart. They self-segregated while demanding integration. No one but the democrat party has figured that out and the democrat party, and the race baiter's, will do anything in their power to maintain that status quo.

re. Judaism. What has always amazed me, both past and present, is how resilient the human race is in times of adversity and how down right self-destructive we become in times of plenty. Witness the difference between the American Jew and the Israeli.

Late to the party, but I'd like to mention the only reason this money is hoarded is because the fucking Republicans gave a tax holiday in 2004 and tried to again in 2009 and 2011. Corporations have been holding out for another ever since.

Had it never happened the corporations would bring it home to be taxed like they did before 2004. Instead they now know Congress will cave to their will eventually. So suggesting this be done again is playing right into the fucking corporation's hands in this stupid game of chicken.

Thanks Republicans, you spineless, corporate bootlicking cunts.

^^ Contributed $1.99 to Socialists for Bernie Unite! ^^

It's funny how the Republican base are so easily manipulated. Socialism is bad because Russia is bad! No, Russia is good now because Trump said so, but socialism is still bad because they said it's still bad!

You're just a bunch of subs looking for a dom to hurt ya good.

Whatever, you'll be crying for socialism when the self-driving cars eliminate tens of millions of jobs and you're all too stupid to demand that 20 or 30 hour livable wage work week that the we fucking fantasized the robots giving us back in the '50s!

So you are saying that white liberal educators created a frustration in the community?
