If so, any insight to how it works or any advise? Also, do you find that it gets you new readers that you normally wouldn’t have gotten?

Thanks

Heyall

Have you seen the Lit twitter page? There are a couple authors who get retweeted. My first tweet was retweeted, now i have 8 followers. : )

Suprisingly, some of the people who follow me have verification with over 100,000 followers of their own!

Yes. I use twitter to promote my writing, both free and commercial.

How much it helps I can't say, but I do see retweets of things I post about Literotica contests and such.

Twitter seems to be more about building a popular fan base and then going "Oh, by the way, I'm a writer. here, check out my latest book." than about being a writer and trying to use it to promote.

That is an observation based on only one year on the twitter site, though. I could be as wrong as right.

I did recently advertise a free Halloween short story collection book and it did rather well. In free give aways, anyway.

Any tips to gain more followers? (Which ironically proves your point about popularity)

I don't tweet and I usually spellcheck so THIER doesn't slip by.
