I'm going in tonight since company policy says my shift starts on Friday even though I have to clock in on Thursday...

We are celebrating the holiday tomorrow because the girl was scheduled an 11 hour shift today. This completely pissed her off due to the number of hours being an anomaly in her usual work schedule. But, she is off tomorrow, and as a responsible parent, I told her to be Thankful she wasn't scheduled BOTH days.

Once a girlfriend invited me and kids over for Thanksging dinner. Arrive at 4, she said. We mingled, chatted... blah blah. Dinner was ready at 5. At 6, was barely even eating dessert and she got up and started putting her shoes on. I'm all where are you going? To wait in line to shop. I was pissed. Her husband shrugged. I hate shopping too. For other people. You never really know what to get them. Kids are easy to please til they start getting older and have specific things they want that are impractical or very expensive. Adults are too vague or already have everything they want and you're left swapping gift cards which is like trading money for money you can only spend at certain places.
