"A few years ago people were waiting in line hours to be the first in the door for blockbuster deals. Perhaps some still do. But why bother? BGR reports “Black Friday is no longer a day, it’s now a month-long event on Amazon that kicks off today and runs straight through Cyber Monday and all the way to December 22.”"

So, who is rushing out of the door today?

I know the Queen and Princess are just because it has become a ritual...

Corporate greed will push this crap earlier with every passing year. Christmas will become a year 'round event where we buy meaningless junk for each other every day to show just how much we care.

I have enough stuff. No need to rush out and buy more.

Fighting crowds? Standing in line? Fuck that. They have these things called computers now and you can shop, buy, and have it shipped to the doorstep.

easy
peasy

I'm going to be buying trinkets of gold, diamond, silver and turquoise...

This is not meaningless junk.

It is an investment.

I went out twice...ever. Once with a friend, kinda on a lark to see what the chaos was like, and a second time when my daughter wanted something specific that debuted on Black Friday.

That was enough.

I know better than to say never again, but it would take some spectacular incentive to go again.

I'm in shipping and distribution, so Black Friday means overtime to me.

I'm going in tonight since company policy says my shift starts on Friday even though I have to clock in on Thursday...

We are celebrating the holiday tomorrow because the girl was scheduled an 11 hour shift today. This completely pissed her off due to the number of hours being an anomaly in her usual work schedule. But, she is off tomorrow, and as a responsible parent, I told her to be Thankful she wasn't scheduled BOTH days.

I feel you.

I still have no idea what the mall Princess is working. She keeps her hours more secret than the government...

:(

She just comes and goes, like a renter, a renter who costs the landlord a buttload of money.

They usually grow out of that. Usually. When they start paying rent.

I need to look for a couch, and I'm supposed to do it tomorrow, but I have a feeling that I'll manage to get through the day without accomplishing that goal. I hate shopping already; black Friday shopping is anxiety inducing.

Isnt Black Friday the day blacks get to loot shoe and liqour stores everywhere?

Racist name for a day designed by honky motherfuckers to rip poor people off and keep the black man down.

Once a girlfriend invited me and kids over for Thanksging dinner. Arrive at 4, she said. We mingled, chatted... blah blah. Dinner was ready at 5. At 6, was barely even eating dessert and she got up and started putting her shoes on. I'm all where are you going? To wait in line to shop. I was pissed. Her husband shrugged. We through dessert down our throats and went home. Never again.

First world problems.

I hate shopping too. For other people. You never really know what to get them. Kids are easy to please til they start getting older and have specific things they want that are impractical or very expensive. Adults are too vague or already have everything they want and you're left swapping gift cards which is like trading money for money you can only spend at certain places.

Being a warehouse bitch requires a mathematics degree?

BLM plans to protest in Seattle tomorrow.. think I'll avoid downtown.
