Why do people insist on wearing clothes at home? In our family we have never worn clothes at home for as long as I can remember. It makes no sense to. Nude is more comfortable, it gives more freedom, and it makes for far less laundry to do.

You got to be joking. While nudity is fine to not understand why people wear clothes I can only assume you have not met most people. Nudity not uncommon but not as common wearing clothes.
I understand your point, but why wear clothes at home where there is nothing to hide. We wear clothing to go out, but usually as little as legally possible, ie super short cut-offs, micro mini skirts, see-thru blouses, etc

Saving on energy costs? Why put unnecessary money in the pockets of greedy, grasping energy companies when a layer or two of clothing means you can avoid it?
Do that here and you'll soon be struck down with hypothermia – unless you're an young woman in Newcastle, as they seem to have an in-built survival system.
We live in a warm climate, so keeping cool is more important except on a very few cool days.

Do you make the dog wear pants to sit on the couch? His ass is bare.
I love this idea. I don't wear clothes if the kid is away. Personally I see no reason to wear cloths in front of the kid but my Master dis agrees. She thinks its unfair to the kid.
For some reason American society is taught everyone that its wrong to let someone see you naked. We have these stupid complex issues that destroy self esteem.
