No. Try the tech support board. It could be spam messages that were deleted before you had a chance to read them.

Yeah they put that number there to pad your message quota. It will go away when you start receiving PMs from others...I wouldn't hold your breath though.

It usually means that the site administrators have deleted spam Private Messages offering Vi??gra and/or a lonely lady who wants to send you her erotic pictures in exchange for your bank details.

They get deleted en masse but individuals' PM counter takes a couple of days to reset.
