Bernie is in the Senate as an Independent. Wouldn't the minority leader be an actual Democrat?
It is time for the Democrats to start thinking of the party as a coalition.
I don't think Hillary Clinton would give a rat's ass that Bernie would declare as a Democrat--which he'd have to do if he wanted to be in the minority leadership, but which is a problem for him as he was elected by his constituency as an Independent--and become a Senate leader (which he never was before. He showed up for votes, and that was about it in his Senate history). I think that, like a lot of others, she'll be sitting back with a box of popcorn and watching Trump selling his support base out on each and every campaign pledge lie he made. What a surprise that he's doing this.![]()
You really are a pathetic liar.
Have you no dignity?
When Barack Obama leaves the White House, New York Sen. Chuck Schumer will almost certainly be elected Senate minority leader — and therefore become the highest ranking Democratic official in America.
That’s a terrible roll of the dice for Democrats, because Schumer might as well have been grown in a lab to be exactly the wrong face for opposition to Donald Trump:
He possesses the same impressive political acumen as Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, sagely explaining “For every blue-collar Democrat we lose in western Pennsylvania, we will pick up two moderate Republicans in the suburbs in Philadelphia, and you can repeat that in Ohio and Illinois and Wisconsin.”
Schumer’s done more than anyone except Bill and Hillary Clinton to intertwine Wall Street and the Democratic Party. He raises millions and millions of dollars from the finance industry, both for himself and for other Democrats. In return, he voted to repeal the Glass-Steagall Act in 1999 and voted to bail out Wall Street in 2008. In between, he slashed fees paid by banks to the Securities and Exchange Commission to pay for regulatory enforcement, and eviscerated congressional efforts to crack down on rating agencies.
Oh, yeah, you're right. He sponsored two bills on naming post offices.
Having you call me a pathetic liar makes my little heart go pitter patter.![]()

I agree with your assessment of Trump. I told many conservatives that supported Trump that if they believed he was a conservative, or that he would keep his promises, they were smoking something. I mean the really good stuff.
I don't believe that Trump has much in the way of core values. I think that he will do anything, say anything that will help constitute a "win". He donated a lot of money to Chuck Schumer. What conservative would do that? I think many Trump supporters are in for a rude awakening.
LOL yea right....the neoLib majority is never going to get on board with anything other than sucking Wall St. and Monsanto off.
Most (D) voters are going to have to get honest about the fact that their reps/senators only differ from their republican buddies in rhetoric.
Quit lying to themselves thinking (D)+ promises of warm fuzzies n' welfare =/= progressive socialist that they desire.
Really? The stock market has been going through the ceiling because Trump will let Wall Street get away with murder. You know dick about Wall Street, or money.

Bernie Sanders is contemptible. Politics is about power, getting it, exercising, it and retaining it.
At the end of the day Sanders is about protest, only protest. It's the way the ineffectual make themselves feel important and morally superior, whilst achieving nothing of substance.
The D's need to look at their grass roots organization, pinch the brightest of Sanders young people and dump the old parasite in the deepest hole available.
Is Schumer the man for the job - probably not, but the R's can be relied upon to stuff up on their own. The right - versus the extra right - versus the White House is going to be entertaining.
