I certainly don't think it's a daydream, but I do believe the future is hard to predict with any accuracy. If NAFTA goes down the tubes, it will mean fewer jobs exported to Mexico which will mean more jobs for Americans.

I find it interesting that race tensions are supposedly at such a high level, especially since we have had an African American POTUS for almost eight years. Without Obama's bully pulpit there may be less fomenting of unrest. We will still have Asshole Al but, without Obama, he will have less influence. The dip in stock value is strictly temporary and the market should be back to normal in a few days. I expect a few people are AFRAID. but I believe most are not.

And, in case you were wondering, I couldn't stand to vote for either major candidate so I voted for Gary Johnson.

In 2007 the labor force was 67 million today the labor force is at 63 million. Most of those in the 4 million difference are those who could not find a job or are working temp. jobs. Those 4 million make up 6% of the 2006 labor force. If you add in that 6% to today's unemployment you come up with about 11 or 12% unemployed.

Your quite right, albeit most are service related and a lot of people consider themselves either to good or entitled to do grunge work. I always wondered about that because I found it was easier to get a better job if I was already working then if I wasn't.

Most of the ones I'm seeing are permanent part time jobs, which is a whole different story. But there's a surprising number of people working multiple part time jobs for more then full time hours. It sucks but is what it is.

Change the government, and the new government uses the same number, and is roundly criticized for doing so. Same trick, different pony. The last I heard from an economist, the real number is about double what is put out there.

You are overdoing this. Trump is nowhere near that.

Besides, there's nothing wrong with nationalism. I would even argue that it is preferrable for the president to be somewhat nationalist, because it literally means that he puts the interests of his country/his people above everyone else. And that's kinda fine if you live in that country, you know?

What really bad is racism and other types of social intolerance, but that doesn't really have anything to do with being a nationalist. And really, Trump doesn't strike me as that bad of a person. His views are more radical than Hillary's, true, but not as radical as to start panicking.

Also, risking to offend a lot of people here - from the outside it looks like black people in US - are the ones who actually are racists. It really does look like they take a lot of advantage of and abuse their standing and the "racism" themes to be racists themselves. I'm not qualified to say if it's a reality or just the impression, but either way the image of black people of America is that of troublemakers and abusers. Either way something they do - they do wrong. So maybe it's somewhat good that Trump will be a little bit less tolerant to them.

What I really fear is Trump dieing in office and Mike Pence as President! With a 50-50 Senate most of Trump's excesses can be mitigated, but if Pence offs Trump, declares a State of Emergency and disolves Congress to bring Christian Principles into our nations institutions for Jeasus!
