Actually, Silver was getting shit from liberals who claimed the 1-in-3 odds he was giving Trump were way too high and panicking people for no reason.

It also should be pointed out that Silver doesn't make "predictions." What he does is based on interpreting polls conducted by others. If you're dealing with a set of polls that have Clinton winning Florida by 1 and Trump wins by 1 instead -- that's not much of a mistake.

But that's also why Silver had it relatively close -- because there were a lot of very close states. This is the most really close races I can remember.
 
I may have been premature. I hadn't checked Wisconsin and Michigan is still holding by a hair for Trump. I didn't imagine he would be leading in Wisconsin. That's shocking.

However, Iowa is much closer than the polls predicted with only a narrow Trump lead.

This thing is far from over.
 
Tell ya one thing this is close enough no ones gonna concede right away and this isnt gonna end till late tomorrow.

I was in WI over Hallowe'en. The only Hillary sign I saw was on a bumper sticker of a car driven by an able bodied black woman that parked in a mall handicapped space without even a placard. WI is going Trump.

Trump is favoured even by the NYT to be POTUS, and the GOP is leading the House AND Senate. One way or the other, it's a brave new world.

I honestly didn't give Trump a chance of actually winning. I thought it would be within 5 points and a moral victory for Trump.

I actually thought Romney had a much better chance 4 years ago. I had that as a complete toss up on election morning.

67% in and Trump only has a 15,000 vote lead.



Correction: 62% in.

Lot left in Wayne County/Detroit to be counted.

Fox has it currently at:

238 - Trump

Fox has given Wisconsin to Trump, which assuming they're right means it's all but over regardless of Michigan and Pennsylvania.


And I think I'm going to pack it in too.

I end with this: Given who seems likely now to be the next president, given his belief (he's said it over and over again) in punishing his opponents, and given the FBI's role in his election, I would advise everyone here to be very careful what they say online from here on in.
