Why would anyone vote for Trump

I totally get why middle America aren't happy with their current situation. (Well, not 'totally', but I understand the general gist of it all.) But the possibility that Trump is the solution just seems so ridiculous, it's extremely difficult to understand how anyone could take it seriously. Here, anyone who's that much of an obvious nut-job doesn't really get past putting up a few billboards before they get laughed out of contention.

Trump has managed to fool people into believing that crassness equates to authenticity. That way when he tells them what they want to hear they think he is speaking his mind rather than pandering and lying.

I have never voted for a candidate that has won. So since I am so awesome at picking losers it seems like a sound strategy.

You're not wrong about that.

The art of the dodge.

The last time I voted for a mainstream candidate, and the only one who won, was in 1976, but he was family so it's okay. My other votes have gone for those with Peace & Freedom or Green next to their names. It's lonely out there but it feels right.

The last interesting election here in California was when Gray Davis (a competent if boring Demo) was recalled over nothing. We had hundreds of gubenatorial candidates. I voted for the pr0nstar Mary Carey. She came in 10th. Too bad Schwartzengruber won -- he was a shill to take take pressure off Enron lawsuits. He cost the state billions of bucks, even worse than Brownback's Kansas take-down. Remember, (R) means retarded.
