Like Tommybowler says, there are many different kinds of BDSM relationships but I think the article's quite correct in noting a BDSM vibe to those movies. Even going back to the TV show, the main premise is "these people love freaky stuff that would terrify normal people", combined with a lot of sexual chemistry between Gomez and Morticia.

John Astin (the original TV Gomez) commented that TV couples of the era tended to be sexless; he wanted people watching the Addams Family to come away believing that Gomez and Morticia had a robust sex life.
 
The movie clearly never takes itself seriously so I think it's more likely that the writers of the 90's film were just trying to be comedic with weird sexual humor rather than actually imagining a subtle D/s pairing in Morticia and Gomez.

Like how Wednesday's idea of 'playing' with her brother is murdering and resurrecting him, the Addam's idea of a 'good time' is having their bones dislocated on a rack.

Gomez and Morticia are TV's hottest couple ever. Not a big fan of the movies.
