Israeli justice minister claims BDS wants to ‘wipe the Jewish nation off the face of the Earth’
https://www.rt.com/news/364763-israeli-jewish-minister-bds/
"Shaked warned “all those agents of ignorance and hatred” against testing Israel's strength and determination to defend the Jewish state, according to the Jerusalem Post.
The BDS movement is a global campaign, first launched in Palestine in 2005, to apply political and economic pressure to end Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories.
Objecting to the horrifying violence and injustice that Israel is metering out against Palestinians is not anti-Semitism.
Israel is a state, with an elected parliament and government. As such, it really has to learn to endure criticism, just like any other state.
Considering the huge forward march of the far-right populist parties in Europe, who are not only anti-Islam but also truly anti-Semitic, it really isn't helpful to spew out accusations of anti-Semitism when what you're talking about a movement that encourages people's democratic freedom to decide where or to whom they give their money.
Israel has chosen to not only illegally occupy Palestine, but has also put in place a system that can rightly be described as apartheid - and it is being protected in this horrifying endeavor by the US.
The BDS movement is similar to the boycott movement against South African financial interests which helped to bring an end to apartheid there. It is a grassroots movement that encourages people to decide to not support a country that discriminates, murders and continues to expand its illegal occupation of Palestinian land.
Regarding the statement by the Israeli justice minister - well, she would say that, wouldn't she?
