I want to vote for Trump....

If you vote for Trump, you own it all.

You own "wanting to shake things up". You also own voting for overt racism, overt misogyny, overt incompetence, overt lies, and overt dismissal of facts. He doesn't just represent these things - he's run his entire platform on them.

You do not get to separate. You will have to answer for them all. If someone calls you a racist in the future and you deny it, they will have perfectly-valid leverage on you.

As for the "B..b..but Hillary" retort, I am fine owning her flaws as candidate. Trump's are worse, no matter how much spin people do. Period.

You will no doubt enjoy owning taking the world to the brink of nuclear war (if not beyond) and all the deaths that Hillary causes with her middle east war plans.

You probably call yourself a progressive too.

What a joke.

To just see the world burn. Trump sucks and Hillary sucks. Pick your poison. Hillary we be business as usual. Trump will be the monkey in the wrench. He will mess up everything,

Could it be time to shake everything up?

I haven't read the other posts yet, but I have a question for anyone who would be kind enough to pay attention to my post (I often ask it but I got no answer):

The shared wisdom over here (hell, even taxi drivers are unanimous in this shared view) is that american presidents don't have too much power, because Congress is the one who makes decisions. And that presidents are more like figure heads.
Is it true?

N.B.
((Personally, despite his narcissism and racist comments and all the other unsavoury stuff, I'd like to see Trump elected. Because by the look of his proposals re external politics, he seems to be A Lot less of a warmonger than the Clintons)).

Sounds like a ringing endorsement for Hillary.

Also, anyone sounds like a war monger compared to Drumpf because he's never been around anyone involved with one. Well, besides on his crappy TV shows that LOSE the Emmys every damn year.

On paper, the Constitution give the president very little power. That is by design not an accident. He is required to faithfully execute the laws as enacted by Congress. He doesn't write laws, he doesn't modify laws. He simply executes the laws as written by Congress. He can veto a law rather than sign it once Congress has passed it. But that's just him saying no he can't actually write any law.

In practice though Congress is feckless they have the absolute ability to stop anything that he wants to do in its tracks. But they rarely do it the last time I can think of Congress having the balls to stop a president was the Democrats who stopped Richard Nixon's plans for the Vietnam War by defunding it.

I would say more than half of all Americans believe that the president's office functions the same as a king and that he can dictate Policy.

Thanks, Que. That clarified things quite a bit for me.

After reading page one, one thing is clear...

;) ;)

The great Democrat fear is that Hillary is folding at the last minute, again, and that Trump might not only win, but that he might not burn the world down. Then how do you walk yourself back off that cliff?

Hopefully Canada's population would increase by 100 million or so in that case :D

There certainly is the possibility that it's all bullshit talk on his part, in order to earn votes. And that, once he gets elected he will do the complete opposite. (he wouldn't be the first politician who did that, wouldn't he? Regardless of country)

But I liked his comments (as I was told, maybe I got it wrong) about wanting to get on with Russia instead of the NATO - Russia time ticking bomb. And that he doesn't seem to be invested in continuing the american wars that hollowed the Middle East and led to millions of civilians being killed.

They started in Asia, then the Middle East. What's not to say that Europe might be next via NATO?

Oh dear - did I hurt BB's feelings? LOL

Not possible.

Yes, Trump's election platform is one of racism, xenophobia, and misogyny. In no uncertain terms. That's agreed upon by Dems and Republicans.

That's because the Dems and the Republicans are two sides to the same coin.

And honestly all those terms used by you and your ilk simply mean "shit we don't like".

If you vote for a candidate, you own the platform: they are the ideals, and you're saying you stand for them.

Exactly which is why you're nothing more than a regressive NeoLib shill for Wall St. and an anti-American who thinks pol's should be above the law's us regular folk must abide. :D

You will see very soon how you're held accountable for that choice,

No I wont....I won't be held accountable for shit.

I can do whatever the fuck I want, just like Clinton. ;)

Not possible.

I've got the board's Fake Pilot using the exact same tactic with me. When you call them on something their whole rebuttal is "why you mad bro?"

. . .as if that's a brand new tactic for keyboard gangsters such as themselves.

Well it didn't take you long to go full gangsta. LMAO

Leadership by example right?

If the US elects her, I'm going to take everything I can get.

Imma let my nuts hang in all their privileged glory :D

It's all they got after they realize you don't give a shit if they call you racist.

Don't know why Y'all worry...

Consider this.

All Obama or Hillary ( If she gets elected) has to do is issue a general pardon for Hillary and her henchmen as well as himself and there is not a DAMNED thing anyone can do about it.

Legal as church on Sunday... At this point what does it matter?

You must be talking about pardons for Trump, because he's the only one with actual court dates coming up--for fraud in November and rape of a minor in December. By January, there probably will be a court date for fraud for his charity as well, not to mention bribing an official, inciting to riot and assassinate, and there's always that investigation into illegal soliciting for foreign campaign contributions. His tax audit is taking so long there there probably are one or thirty smoking guns there, as well. And, what? he's up to twelve or thirteen suits he says he's taking out on women who claim sexual abuse. Yeah, all of those surely will go well for him.

What was the impending court case for Richard Nixon?

Impeachment?

Could be the same for Hillary...

Well, sure, you can hang on to the hope, Poorest Gump, if you like--and if your crazy hate for one woman (Oh, god, not a woman after a black man. What is a white redneck supposed to do?) has higher priority than living in a functioning society, which it seems to. Happily, there are only so many deplorables like you around (quite a few on this porn discussion board--but the pile up of alts might account for that).

Talks about functioning society.....supports destroying the rule of law as long as it's his team doing it. :D
